Surprising Fusion Lots of Veg Options

Indian and Mexican fusion menu was a bit of a skull cracker then it got to the table and were fully wowed. Lots of plant-based options clearly labeled and alts available for several dishes. Really lit up the palate with familiar flavors for those of us who regularly eat Indian meanwhile presented in a novel Mexi- way (e.g., flautas, tacos, quesadillas). Chutneys we’re also awesome. Not necessary given the total burst of flavor in each bite but still added something great and savory.

Pros: Samosa flautas (what?! Yes!), Tamarind chutney , Quantities totally generous!

Creative and tasty

We had the vegan naan tacos with coconut curry tofu/sweet potatoes and frybread tacos with vegan chile verde. Both were excellent, but I found the curry to be a little too salty. My dining companion didn’t, so probably just personal preference. Everything on the menu is clearly labeled, lots of vegan options, and there are appetizers, entrees, and desserts available.

Creative menu with many vegan options

Roxy’s is a unique spot featuring Indo-Mexican fusion, and though they do serve meat, the menu clearly labels the many vegan options, making it one of the most vegan-friendly restaurants in town, and a welcome addition to the Durango food scene.

Much of the food is fried, but there are healthier items on the menu as well. The naan tacos (vegan option) are particularly recommendable.

There’s a self-serve “chutney bar” where you can pick your favorite la from the fridge, which includes several vegan options, like tamarind-ginger and cilantro.

Service is friendly and helpful. The Main Ave location is central, though that also means parking can be a challenge at times.

Pros: Creative vegan options

Cons: Serves meat

Your taste buds will thank you!

Oh boy, we've been excited about this place since we first saw they'd be opening here in Durango. Indian-Mexican fusion? With lots of vegan options? Heck yeah!

So far we've eaten our way all around the vegan options on the menu and everything is fantastic! It's awesome that you can get a snack or pig out. I love being able to order to exactly how hungry I am. And you can easily customize. They do have vegan cheese and the build your own section makes it easy to make the vegan meal of your dreams. If you're looking for bland, this isn't the place. But while spicy, most dishes aren't hot. For a first timer, I'd recommend starting with two tacos or tacodillas and trying two different fillings. Tacos are hefty. I can usually only eat two.

You have two different ways to order here. A server can help you or you can scan the QR code at the table and place your order that way. I recommend that you work with a server your first time. They can answer questions about spiciness and introduce you to how things work. (For example, there's a condiment fridge!) Then when you've got the hang of things, order with the QR code. The spot becomes a dance club at night so be aware of that if you show up after 9pm.

As they get settled here, the restaurant has been adding vegan options. The vegan naan and samosa taquito options are new. The mango sticky rice for dessert is also fantastic.

Pros: Delicious, Lots of vegan options, Build your own allows you to order creatively

Cons: Ordering can be weird until you get the hang of it, Dance club after 9pm if you're not into that
