Rice revolution vegetarian restaurant JIAMI呷米友善餐廳 is their name, this is a very interesting store, their meal combine international style, they have Korean style, Japanese style, Taiwanese style, American style(burger), Italian style(pasta); I can tell the chef is very creative ! This is definitely an UN restaurant lol, unfortunately most of the dishes contain dairy and eggs, so if you are vegan remember to let them know in advance😄

Cute and convenient - Edit
Food was pretty good and seemed reasonably priced. I ordered the stewed veggie balls in ginger soy sauce made vegan, hot pumpkin soymilk, and a cinnamon roll. The total was NT$530.
Read moreYou can order downstairs or upstairs, and you retrieve your own cup for water and silverware.
I’m not sure if they speak much English, but *if you don’t speak/read Mandarin, **“可做Vegan”** means it can be made vegan.* Just so you know to ask. :)
The staff was very polite and anticipated my questions.
It is right across from 2/28 Peace Park, where the National Taiwan museum is located.
Pros: Vegan items marked, Savory and sweet items, Friendly staff

Healthy and friendly spot! - Edit
I really enjoyed my laksa which was served in a big bowl with a very generous portion. But my friend ordered the dry version of this dish and although it was also delicious it was about half the size of mine for the same price. My other friend had the burger which she said was really delicious! Food is fresh and made with really good Ingredients. The only things are that portion sizes may not really be consistent and the dishes are served at random times. Really lovely staff!

Food is just ok and a bit over price. - Edit
Went to have lunch here today and actually was a bit disappointed. Understand that they are using organic vegetables and the cost should not be low. But the portion was far too small and the food was so blend. Average NT390 per person for a mini set lunch was over priced for both quality and food.

Alright - Edit
It was ok. The food was creative but bland. This is common in Taiwanese food so this is pretty status quo. On the more expensive side

Ok - Edit
It was ok here. Can’t say anymore than that. I ate and it was fine. Menu is very small and limited. No choice of dessert in set menu. Staff friendly and helpful with good English which is always a bonus for me, and the place had a good atmosphere. Definitely not a place to take a meat eater. Still hungry afterwards so I’m going to have to find more food elsewhere.

Healthy and decent food - Edit
I ordered lion’s head meatballs with rice and lemon pound cake for desert. The meatballs were pretty decent, not overly salty. The pound cake, however, was so-so. It was more on the dry side and sugar was not evenly distributed. With that being said, the overall dining experience was pleasant. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and calming. I would go back :)

Farm to table restaurants - Edit
This restaurant focuses the idea of local & organic ingredients. We had the toona bibimbap and tofu ball. I like the toona sauce while most of their food taste light, like the side dish and soup, didn't remember the taste of tofu ball but the texture is not bad.
Read moreThe sets are all 300NT, main dish with soup, side dish, dessert(can't choose), tea or coffee, by the way, the plum tea is good.
The staff was friendly when I told him the soup is not hot enough, he gave me a new one quickly.
Pros: Great choice in central taipei, Good staff
Cons: A bit of noisy

friendly and great atmosphere - Edit
At 300NT, it’s the most I’ve spent on a meal in Taiwan but for the quality and portion it was totally reasonable. The food was filling, huge amount of fresh vegetables, and the broth of the spicy hot pot was delicious! Half-way through I was already feeling full. The dessert (plum juice and silken tofu in tea) was also a refreshing bonus that took the heaviness out at the end. Very nice!

Great concept and good food - Edit
We had a chance to visit this restaurant for lunch and really enjoyed it. The concept is great (mostly local ingredients, etc). The food was tasty and the staff were very welcoming. Too bad it’s not all vegan, but still a great lunch spot! It’s a semi-self-service kind of place. You get your own utensils, water, and napkins, but they bring you the food and the bill.

Great Option for Central Taipei - Edit
Rice Revolution (Xiaminxi) serves simple, healthy, delicious meals of organic food sourced from eco-friendly farms around Taiwan. It's owned and run by an active member of the Green Party of Taiwan (the Green Party as in environmental party, not the DPP, which together with the Green Party and others form the 'Pan-Green' coalition). While many restaurants the world over claim to use "organic food as much as possible" and cash in on the trend of environmentalism, it's obvious that this restaurant is run by passionate environmentalists (though I do wish it would follow through to a fully-vegan menu).
Read moreVegan items are labelled in Chinese, but the English-speaking staff will be happy to help with what can be made vegan. Meals sets cost around 200NT, which is excellent value for organic food in central Taipei.
Since the unfortunate closure of the Huaining Loving Hut and Veggie Joy this is one of the best options for vegans around Taipei Main Station and 2-28 Peace Park.
Pros: vegan-friendly, organic, good, environmental vibe
Cons: not all vegan
