Big servings - Edit
We had the almuerzos, for 8 soles each. The menu del dia we had wasn't that nice - but hopefully it was just the day we went.

Tasty and cheap - Edit
I came for lunch and had the menu del día which was only S/8! Both the soup and salad were vegan and I had choice of three vegan mains. One of the chefs came to tell me which options were vegan. It all tasted amazing. Popular with locals and everyone was friendly.

Best veggie place in chachapoyas - Edit
I had the menu del dia (8 soles) which included soup, a main, salad and drink. It was really tasty and such good value. My partner had the burger which was amazing- probably one of the best we’ve had in South America. The people are nice but service is a little rushed but still the food is worth it.

Peruvian food - Edit
Authentic Peruvian food. If you take the menu of the day it's fast and inexpensive, too.
Read moreThey also have a lot of other dishes on the menu apart from that and sell products like bread, granola, nuts and beauty products.

Wowa weewa!!! - Edit
Peruvian sized portions of vegan/vegetarian food. Its so difficult to find good quality veggie food that is fresh and satisfying. Also I've found that a lot of vegan places do not give you very much and have you leaving hungry. This place goes ham and gives you everything you need (especially satisfying after hiking to and from Gocta)

A Treasure in Chachapoyas - Edit
As previous reviewers rightly point out, this is a gem in Chachapoyas - unexpected and delightful. I had 3 lunches, one breakfast, and one dinner here and everything was tasty, though burger was a tad too salty. Breakfast was basic but lunch and dinners were delicious and included drink, soup, salad, and main. All the daily menu items every time I was there were vegan. The fixed menu prices are 6 soles and is available for both lunch and dinner.
Read moreThe owner lady, who also doubles as the head chef, speaks very good English and all the staff I interacted with were very welcoming, courteous and helpful. I wish I could give them more stars!!
The small store has several types of vegan cookies - look in the glass counter!
Pros: Vegan, Tasty, Cheap
Cons: None!

What happened? - Edit
Having read the previous reviews I thought we would be in for a treat. We began by asking for 2 menus, but the owner was rushing around. He came back with two soups and rushed off before we could as if it was vegan, we waited a while, trying to catch his attention but even though he saw us, he ignored us. When he did come, we told him we were vegan, and before we could ask anything he whipped up the soups and took them back. He never returned. We came back after a few days and again, the owner was clearly not happy with us being there, not only was he short with us but he treated us like scum. I don't care how the food tastes or the value for money, as a vegan I eat food that's made with love and there is no love here. I asked about a tablet supplement on my way out and I just got a snarl. For less than half the price I could have bought ingredients next door in the very friendly market and cooked in the hostel.

Best in town - Edit
This is the only real vegetarian place in town but it's probably the best I have been so far in the whole north Perù. Big space, conveniently located between the main square and the market, opened evey day except Saturday, from 7am to 9pm. Extensive menù a la carte, which is mostly vegan. Moreover they have a daily menù for 6 soles, both at lunch and dinner, which includes a soup, a dish of choice between two options (one lighter than the other), a small salad and a free-refill warm tea.
Read moreI had the pleasure to meet the owner and part of his family (all vegetarian): very nice people, warm hearted and happy to help. I find the place and the atmosphere very nice too and I ate here many times during my stay. You can see a lot of locals and frequent customersj. Food is delicious and healthy. Not too much mock meat in the set menù; if you like it order a la carte. Highly recommended.
Pros: mostly vegan, cheap, big portions , good healthy food

nice surprise - Edit
I had little hope to find a vegetarian parlour in the Amazon rain forest so I was really surprised and delighted to find this place. The place is clean, open kitchen, prices are very affordable and the menu has enough choices (many dishes are in fact vegan). The attention of the personnel could have been a bit more friendly though.
