Had the pineapple curry. Was okay, my friend had the garlic and pepper vegetables, which was pretty much burned and overloaded with pepper. Had to give back the coconut because it was already stinking like feet. The second one was a little better, but still not fresh. The waiter said, that they didn’t know that it was bad, but I mean you can tell easily with appearance and smell.

We absolutely loved our dinner at Red Duck!! We tried several other vegan options around Kata Beach during our stay and this was hands down the best. Highly recommended. Although this is not a vegan restaurant there are three pages of vegan for diners to chooses from and they can usually make anything from the regular menu vegan as well. Portions were big, delicious and reasonably priced. Our server, Beer, was fantastic and welcomed us with open arms. We were planning on heading there again but we passed out in hotel room after a long day of fun in the sun. Would’ve given a 5-star rating but since it isn’t entirely vegan the highest is 4-star. Highly recommended.

Great Vegan Thai Food - Edit
A non-vegan restaurant with a lengthy vegan section filled with Thai dishes. Any dish on the non-vegan menu can also be made vegan. They are knowledgable about vegan ingredients. They'll even make a coffee with soy milk or coconut milk if you ask for it. Everything is delicious!

A bit disappointing - Edit
After seeing all the positive reviews here we really wanted to pop in for dinner. The first night we tried, they were closed! But we persevered and went back another night.
Read moreWe order 3 dishes between 2 of us because there was so much choice. The massaman curry was very nice - highly recommend. However the other two dishes were very bland and disappointing. The prices weren't cheap either.
They did however give us free shots of Limoncello at the end!

Really cozy little restaurant with 21 (!!) vegan choices plus lots of vegetarian options. The menu is with pictures and it was hard to choose because all the dishes looked amazing.

Lots of veg which is what I needed, also brown rice. Expensive for Thailand (250bh ) for basic veg and rice meal but was tasty so I don’t mind paying more! A bit hard to find off the Main Street but can recommend if you wanna wooowwwww your non veg pals or just satisfy their meat needs while you can eat your tasty veg

Food was very average and very expensive for what it was. They also add an extra 10% surcharge. 2 veg curries, a plate of tempura veges and 2 sprites cost nearly a 1000 baht. Flavours were average. Tofu was bland. Very disappointed as we had high expectations based on the other reviews.

Read moreFood here is delicious and there are many vegan options in a whole vegan only section. I had the Penang curry fried rice and the black pepper and garlic veg/tofu. Both very good and beautifully presented.
The cocktails are also great, I had one called “You Need This” which is lime vodka, kafir, chilli, lemongrass and is the best of its kind I’ve ever had. Usually these types of cocktails are very disappointing but this one was lovely!
The restaurant has very relaxing clean decor. I sat outside but was not bothered by mosquitos and although the restaurant is situated on the road, it’s a pretty quiet road.
It’s only a short walk from the south end of Kuta beach and well worth the trek.
Pros: lots of vegan options, relaxing atmosphere with good music, friendly efficient service

Great Dinner Spot - Edit
Had a wonderful dinner at Red Duck, good atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a very large menu with an extensive vegan section in the back. Staff were very friendly and the owner made us feel at home. Thai dishes with very fresh ingredients and large portions. Great drinks as well. Would definitely recommend for a nice date night!

We stopped here for dinner, in need of a tasty and nourishing meal after a terrible lunch at a different "vegetarian friendly" restaurant on the Main Street near the beach.

The service was very good and we got to chatting with Marcello (one of the owners I think) who is vegetarian himself.
The menu has a full vegan section and if asked, apparently much of the rest of the many can be made vegan.
Highly recommended - worth 5 stars however Happy Cow

Best vegan food on the island! - Edit
Definitely the best place we have been to so far on our holiday! I had the fresh pineapple curry and my other half had the coconut curry, and we were both really impressed with the taste and presentation. They only use high quality fresh ingredients, nothing frozen! The owner is a top lad who is also vegan. Also there is a separate vegan menu with so many options you are spoilt for choice! Prices are also very good especially considering the quality of the food. We stayed in kata so it was only a couple of minuets away, but we would both more than happily travel to the other side of the island to eat here! They also make a mean cocktail!

Really nice and cozy place that has a separate vegan section in the menu and all the staff know what vegan actually means. Owned by an Italian guy who was really sweet and even came to the table to tell me about the menu and reassured me that the food will be 100% vegan. I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. Can't wait to come back! :)
