Closed on Mondays

Happycow marked the restaurant as OPEN however after catching the taxi there for dinner this Monday evening there was a signboard outside saying, “Closed on Mondays“.

Hi, sorry about that, we had not been informed. I have updated the hours now. We rely on users to give us this information as we are a community based site. :)

Good food but expensive and small portions

First of all there is no vegan dish on their current menu, but the owner was really friendly and explained which dishes can be veganized.
So, we tried the fried rice, the massaman curry and mixed vegetables. It tasted all quite good, but the portions were rather small, so we had to order another main dish to feel full (~14€ per main dish).
They also charged us 20€ for a hugo and a bottle of water which is way above the prices of other restaurants on the island.

Hello!
Thank you for the reply! The size of the dishes is of course from a subjective view, we just compared it to other Thai restaurants we know from Germany, were we got bigger portions and did not need to order another dish to feel full.
Regarding the bill: It said 20€ for drinks on the bill - I think I still have it at home, so I can post it later today. If it was a mistake than no problem - mistakes can happen - but I hope you can understand that that price was a little downer of the experience although the food was very good.

As we says, we have the copy of your bill: 6 euro Hugo, 4 euro water.
Why do you compare us with restaurant in Germany?
We are a tiny island in Italy, where all the ingredients travel with boat and car, where electricity is produce with gasoline and so water. Everything in Giglio cost 25% more.

Please I don't want to make your restaurant bad. It was good food and you were also very friendly to us so no worries.
I know that its more expensive on the island than on the landside and I am comparing with Munich (the most expensive city in Germany) were we usually pay about 50€ for 2 people (tip included).
Unfortunately, I can't find the bill but if you sum up the prices you wrote on your 1st comment it adds up to 54€ but we paid 64€, so 10€ more for the drinks as I remember well.
We also just got 1x steamed rice which should come with the curry (so not for free as you wrote above).

But as I said early, we liked the food and I rated your restaurant 3 out of 4 possible stars - it was just too expensive for us for what we got.
