Extensive vegan menu! - Edit
We chose Re Nao because there is so much choice for vegans! There is a separate menu with allergens clearly labelled. We were really pleased with the items we ordered - the seaweed salad and marinated tofu to start and then the sizzling mock duck and tofu satay with spicy chips and jasmine rice for mains. Absolutely delicious! Huge portions too.. we couldn't finish.. come here hungry and you won't be disappointed!

Separate Vegan Menu - Edit
Lots of vegan choices, including their signature Biang Biang hand ripped noodles, which you can watch them rip and cook.

Just short of being pretty good - Edit
My first impression of the restaurant was a strong hit in the nostrils of either bad quality oil or that which had been used several times. Of the starter (bun) we ordered that was fried, it tasted that way.
Read moreSome of the dishes we ordered lacked a little something; perhaps a little extra seasoning or a missing ingredient. The fresh pulled noodles in the soup I ordered were pretty good though. The seaweed salad was disappointing for €9 given it was mostly filled with green peppers and contained little seaweed. However, the chefs were generous with the amount of seitan used in certain dishes (the soup and the mock dock), so that was value for money there.
The whole experience wasn't bad; it just wasn't great.

Delicious!! - Edit
The vegan menu is amazing! The portions are huge. I ordered the black bean sauce with vegan duck with a side of noodles; both the taste and texture were amazing. Everything was incredibly tasty. The service was excellent and the waitress provided great suggestions. If I could, I would give this restaurant 5 stars.

Tried For The Vegan Duck - Edit
The vegan duck was pretty good! Never had real duck, but I always get intrigued with non-traditional meats that are veganized. However, the service was a bit hit or miss, and the other food was just okay. We had a lovely time sitting out on the patio though!

yeah… we came back the next day - Edit
came here for lunch two days ago and came back for dinner yesterday. they offer a separate vegan menu with plenty of delicious options. i got the same thing both times (oops) - gungun noodles, stir fried seitan (huge portions), spicy sesame dandan sauce, in soup. my boyfriend got the sizzling vegan duck with jasmine rice. the second time we also ordered pan fried vegan dumplings, which lacked flavor but were still ok. definitely needed some salt. overall i thoroughly enjoyed and wish i had more time here to try more dishes!!!! but i’ll be thinking about those spicy noodles for a longgg time. reasonably priced too and great wait-staff :)

Big miss for me - Edit
Chinese is my favourite cuisine(s) of all time but in my opinion Re Nao was a rather disappointing experience. The crispy mushroom starter was so sweet that they had actual sugar (and some spices, maybe cinnamon) sprinkled on them like they were pancakes/crepes. The tofu gang bao was a bit gloopy without any real flavour but the beans were cooked well however also has some sugary sweetness added, I think this was in the crispy chilli. The best part of the meal was the lovely server, she was very kind and helpful, a real asset to the restaurant.

Vegan, handmade noodles! - Edit
We had dinner twice at Re Nao when we visited Galway- it was so good! In particular, we loved the fried mushroom appetizer and choosing our noodles and sauces for the entree. Everything on the menu is clearly labeled, including the cocktail menu! They had lots of fun vegan cocktails. We will be back next time we are in Galway!

Vegan menu, everything looks good - Edit
Loved that they had a vegan menu that you don't even have to ask for (it's in the regular menu that they give you). Everything looked good. I had the sichuan wok fry with the vegan mock duck. The texture of the "duck" was good but it didn't have a lot of taste. It was also spicier that I expected, and quite greasy. I still loved that they had something else that tofu (they also had seitan on the menu). The vegan mock duck was expensive.

So many options, bring your own hot sauce - Edit
There were so many options and the food was delicious at this Asian fusion restaurant. My only advice is to bring your own hot sauce because they don’t do spicy in Ireland. I got the spiciest thing on the menu and it was still perfectly mild. Even the extra hot sauce they brought to the table wasn’t really spicy. Overall great food and experience.

It’s so hard to find a restaurant in Galway that isn’t strictly vegan, but has lots of options. re nao has an entire vegan menu and every dish is bursting with flavour.

Impressed - Edit
They have a separate vegan menu and there was a good selection to choose from. I had the satay seitan/tofu noodles. Very impressed. I also had some veg spring rolls and they were great too. I went with a non-vegan and they were content with their meal too.

One of the best meals I've ever had - Edit
We were spoiled for choice with a large fully vegan menu (which we asked for on the way in). Every item sounded delicious, and what we ordered was wonderful. We had the spinach dumplings and braised aubergine to share for starters, then I had the bao cui jianbing and my partner had the vegan duck as mains. Everything was perfect, and the staff were really lovely and friendly.

loved it! - Edit
i found this restaurant through happycow and i’m so glad i did! the portions were great sized and there is an extensive vegan menu! something i loved is that they automatically ask everyone if they want the regular or vegan menu which opens the options for people who weren’t even planning on getting from the vegan menu! it seems like if you go on a friday or saturday you need a reservation, but not if you eat outside! i got the spinach dumplings and the glass noodles with tofu. definitely check it out!

Five-Star Dinning Experience (previously Lime) - Edit
This was probably one of the best dining experiences I've had as a vegan. While the place was full when we arrived, they were kind enough to let us sit outside with drinks (their terrace wasn't open) while we waited for a table. The staff was super kind, accommodating, and gave us suggestions on what to order. It was amazing to have a separate full vegan menu with so many different options.
Read moreThe food was delicious, and the boba cocktail was mind blowing. If I'm ever back in Galway, this is a must! (P.S. I was confused as I was trying to find Lime, which is also a restaurant listed on Happy Cow, but then realized it's the same place).
Pros: Great spice level , Separate, Creative Vegan Menu, Friendly staff
Cons: Definitely make a reservation beforehand

ripped noodles and the bao bun, big portions and nice cocktails. It was a bit mad as it was a Friday night and very busy with drunk people so super loud and not a relaxing romantic meal. However was worth it for the great food.
