Delicious and fresh

They're fully vegan now, they just haven't updated their overhead menu saying milk some places. Food was delicious #Veganuary

Pros: Good selection , Tasty , Affordable

Very disappointing and inedible.

I can’t understand the god reviews, the food we received was revolting. I ordered a delivery of the 5 curry and rice. Happily paid extra for a delivery. Asked for delivery at 8pm. They text me to ask if they could deliver at 7.15m but I wasn’t available then. They sad they would deliver at 8pm but turned up at 8.30pm with cold food. We reheated it and eventually ate at 9pm but the food was inedible as it was all so incredibly spicy. Even my husband who loves spicy food couldn’t stomach it.
Happy cow wouldn’t allow one star but I wouldn’t even give it one unfortunately
I tried calling them and messaging them before leaving this review but they didn’t answer.

So tasty

Great choice of food, served traditionally in a leaf.
Well worth the hours walk from the Lotus Tower to build up an appetite😊

Delicious Sri Lankan Food -90% Vegan

I love this place. The food is delicious and if you order curries and rice from the counter all but one of the 15 or so dishes tend to be vegan (one rice dish has had ghee on our last couple of visits). Portions are generous and the food is healthy and delicious. A plate of rice and five curries is 350 rupees.

Pros: Delicious Sr Lankan Food, Great Staff, Very good value

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Best curries in Sri Lanka!

We’ve visited Ranbath twice, so far, and will be back many more times before we leave Colombo!

For just 350 rupees, they offer a lunch of red or white rice with 5 curries from a selection of perhaps 10 or more curries. When we visited, only one dish (a rice dish) was not vegan-friendly, due to ghee, but the people working here are happy and able to advise. We loved having the pick of so many green veg, after finding these scarce on our recent travels around India, Nepal and Sri Lanka, plus the dishes are full of spicy flavour!

You can eat in or take away. The restaurant is proudly plastic free (and organic) - food served on a clay dish and leaf to eat in, and in a leaf and cardboard box to take out.

Note - there are items in the menu displayed behind the counter that are not vegan-friendly, so do ask if you’re unsure.

Very highly recommended!

Pros: Delicious and wholesome curries, Excellent value for money, Lovely and knowledgeable staff

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Best restaurant of Sri Lanka

After spending almost half a year in total in Sri Lanka, I finally found my dream restaurant. It's all organic, virtually completely vegan, super delicious, local, seasonal, aware, healthy, transparent, friendly and affordable. Fantastic (red) Rice & (5x) Curries served on a lotus leaf for lunch and dinner for 350 rupees. But they also have an expensive list of other dishes. Mouth watering sago desert made this visit incredible and I'll definitely come back again.

Pros: Almost all vegan restaurant, Organic, delicious food, Great ambiance

Great little place

Lovely little restaurant with lots of vegan options! We had the number 10 which is your choice of rice with 5 small curries. Big plate and cheap! Food was delicious... absolute gem!!!
The owner even gave us a lift back to our hotel because the rain had blocked the road and we couldn’t get a tuk tuk!

Pros: Delicious food, Lots of vegan options , Helpful and lovely staff

Pretty good!

If you want traditional Sri Lankan food such as rice and curry, string hoppers, etc without the price tag of Upalis then this is it. It looks clean and hygienic and there's a wide variety of curries to choose from, it's also good you can choose the amount of rice to have (as i like less rice and more curry). I had a lunch plate and I chose 4 curries and a salad with red rice. The guy behind the counter didn't really speak English so my partner had to confirm there was no dairy in the curries (which there wasn't). I would definitely go again as it was quick, good price and yummy.

Pros: Great variety, Clean, Quick

Cons: Nothing marked as vegan, Not much English spoken

Pros: Great buffet, Good staff, Organic & ethical

Cons: Serves dead animals

My favorite veggie place in Colombo

I went to several veggie places while I was in Colombo and this one was my favorite. It costs about three hundred rupees instead of less than 200 at most of the other places but it's just nicer overall. The dining room is air-conditioned and the place is very clean and modern. The meal I chose cost 310 rupees and included a plate with rice in the middle plus three or four items from the buffet. I like this place because the food is on the buffet and you can see what you're ordering. At many places they only have a written menu and I had to guess what I was ordering. the service was also very friendly. I definitely recommend eating here if you are in Colombo for some reason. The meal I had seemed to be vegan. It's diagonally across the street from Sri Vihar vegetarian restaurant. That other restaurant is very very busy but this place seems to do a lot of takeout orders with food delivery services. There's usually a table in the dining room without having to wait

Pros: Good tasting food, Air conditioning
