Genuine Chinese food - Edit
I was in Hong Kong for a race during Chinese New Year. This was one of the places I really wanted to go ( ended up going twice). Booked in advance(recommended).a bit tricky to get to. Next to the supermarket you will find another door, that look like a residential entry but just go in and get in the elevator( you will see the restaurant name and number in there)

Worst Restaurant expwrience in years - Edit
After seeking out a suitable vegan eatery here in Hong Kong, I was left upset after our experience here at the Pure Veggie House.
Read moreIt cost us over $100HK in a taxi to get there for 9.30pm to be told they were closed despite being advertised as closing at 10.30pm and the restaurant still half full.
What left the bad taste in my mouth, was not the food, but the laughter from the 2 staff members when I bought it to their attention that their website says 10.30pm and was then told through the laughter that means customers all need to be out.
I could have eaten and been out in 15/20mins.
The place did not look all that hygienic on closer inspection and perhaps I was lucky in hindsight to not have eaten there. But very odd and upsetting service indeed.

Local flavors - Edit
The food here was tasty and excellent. The service was relatively good. Language is a little bit of an issue though. Compared to other sit down restaurants the prices were reasonable for Hong Kong standards. Obviously smaller ‘street’ style restaurants are much cheaper.

Overpriced local food - Edit
Location: had to take a bus from admiralty MTR station (2 stops) so it wasn’t that hard to find. however, the trip back was slightly more inconvenient as the bus stop back was further away.
Read moreAmbiance: very traditional and authentic.
Service: not the best. it was stated online that they were open the entire day, but when we arrived at 4.30pm, we were told that they were taking a break and only serving at 5.30pm. we had to walk around aimlessly in the end to kill time. the servers were not the most welcoming, seemed like they were too arrogant at how well business was going to properly care about diners.
Menu: filled with a huge variety of chinese food! however, we were looking for their dimsum and they only had a small menu serving 6 dishes for dinner😡maybe they’ll have more dimsum for lunch? the menu is written in both english and chinese, so language shouldn’t be a problem.
Food: Horribly overpriced, and i wouldn’t say that the food was fantastic either. they were pretty ok, quite oily; could probably find much cheaper and equally good tasting at other restaurants/coffee shops.
Pros: Traditional food, variety
Cons: overpriced, irregular timings, not welcoming

Best Vegan in HK...full stop - Edit
This is what a Michelin Star vegan establishment represents - were there such a thing. Exquisite surroundings, atmosphere, service, amenities and the menu. It might be a tad overwhelming for those expecting the more typical relaxed vegan restaurant atmosphere. This is the place where vegan celebrities nosh so keep an eye out.

Super dim sum! - Edit
To me, dim sum has this connotation of getting really bloated and MSG'd out, then getting hungry again 2 hours later after a deep belch.
Read moreThis one is absolutely not like that!
The setting is very pretty and serene, historical tea-house style. Overall, the dishes were super tasty and filling.
Fried mantou - good, just as expected. The sweet dip, I think, is brown cane sugar with osmanthus. There's a very faint honey-caramel aftertaste (maybe coconut sugar? or gula melaka?). It's not very sweet, so you can gorge and not feel too terrible about it.
Rice roll (cheung fun) - The mixed vegetable was nice.
Truffle mushroom dumpling - SO GOOD WANT MORE AGAIN AGAIN
Sichuan Red Oil Dumpling (红油抄手) - there's barely any filling, it felt like just eating skin. also the oil was a little too sweet and not as spicy as I expected.
Custard Bun - these are super cute, they look like mushrooms. not too sweet and pretty good.
They have burdock tea as an option!
It came out to $320 for 2 people.
I think it was pretty good - filling, felt very clean tasting, felt very good after.
Pros: Tasty, Great setting, Good value

Yummy dim sum! - Edit
We had 10 hours in HK for a stop over and decided to mission to HK Island for some dim sum! So glad we went. Everything on the menu looked delicious. My favourite was the Sichuan chilli and peanut soup! So good! So spicy! Would definitely go again next time I am in town :)

Although it’s a little off the beaten track, I urge you to hop in a cab or on a bus and go for lunch here! The staff were really attentive and happy to explain what everything was. Lots of options so we ended up ordering plates to share which worked out well. Inexpensive given the high quality!

Fantastic - Edit
I went here for a quick meal on a visit to Hong Kong and loved the food! The restaurant is fully vegan and there are so many things to choose from. I had three small dishes and they were all delicious (especially loved the vegetable dumplings). The staff speak limited English but there's a menu in English which is very clear. While not the cheapest place, I think the prices are really okay given the quality of the food. I had some trouble finding the place though. There's a sign saying 'fusion' on the outside of the building, enter through the other door (not the one leading to the supermarket) and take the elevator to the third floor.

Great Selection of Yummy Veggie Dim Sum - best in town! - Edit
This is probably the best veggie dim sum place in town. They had a great selection of dim sums that were not only well presented but totally delectable! Would definitely recommend this restaurant! Take the MTR to Admiralty station and take a taxi from there - 10 minutes away - say to the Taxi Driver "Fo Dat Chung Sum".

Dim sum heaven - Edit
Absolutely delicious veggie dim sum. Love how they’re mostly stuffed with veggies rather than processed mock meat and you can tell they’re made with high quality ingredients. Paid about $400 for two people which was the most expensive meal we had in HK but also the best. Save some room for dessert and get the deep fried sesame lotus peanut balls.

incredible - Edit
It's a bit out of the way and probably the most expensive place I ate at in Hong Kong, but it's definitely worth it. We tried the fried lotus seeds, kung pao mushrooms, baked aubergine and mapo tofu - all absolutely beautiful. It came to about HK$200 each (with rice and tea) but we did order more than we needed!

This place serves absolutely beautiful dim sum! Not too expensive, cost about 230 hkd for lots of food for 2 people. To find it you need to go into the coda plaza then up the lift to the 3rd floor :)

Nos encantó este sitio, su comida está buenisima y a un precio asequible, está un poco escondido pero merece la pena buscarlo. Os recomiendo la tempura de shimejis, impresionantes, aunque todo lo demás también estaba buenisimo.

would literally come to Hong Kong just for this - Edit
Everything here is of such high quality- so rare to find delicious vegan Chinese food that doesn’t taste totally MSG loaded, so this is such a find! Whilst having some really authentic, original Chinese food (and as a Chinese person I know what’s what) it also has vegan takes on classics like sweet and sour pork, which taste so meat like it’s worrying! Honestly, even if you’re staying on Kowloon side or it’s totally inconvenient, I would recommend that you make the trip here- I really think it’s worth it

Nice vegan dim sum! - Edit
We ended up visiting twice as the first time we went for Dim Sum but hadn't realised there was a separate menu and so ordered from the main menu! The first time we had some nice Buddhist stews, and the second time the Dim Sum. The food was really good, the head waiter was very friendly if not a bit pushy. Was always busy with locals, which we thought was a good sign, as we have never had Dim Sum before.
