Scary - Edit
We went into the restaurant, saw the buffet..,
Read moreNothing was labeled and the buffet was very small. Didn't trust eating here and no one to greet or explain things. Seemed like more of a take out place. We left and went to Clay House, another Indian restaurant 2 minutes away which had a lot of vegetarian options.
Pros: Parking, Good takeout selection , Good lighting
Cons: Sloppy looking food in the buffet , No service for restaurant side, Oldish

This restaurant is run by a Hindu family, it's ALL vegetarian, NO meat.
Read moreDid you sit down? How long did you wait for someone to help you? We have eaten there numerous times over the years and always had some service, usually the same nice woman who brings water and fresh flatbreads.
If the kitchen is not too busy you can order off the menu instead of having the buffet. The buffet is small, usually 5 vegetarian dishes. Very few other Winnipeg Indian restaurants have that many vegetarian dishes in their huge buffets (filled with meat dishes).
If you are vegan, I understand needing to ask questions. However, how many buffets have you been to that have labels on their dishes? Maybe a couple that charge $20 for the buffet, not the majority of restaurants or Indian restaurants.

Wicked Awesome - Edit
The best buffet in the city. Always has five veggie &/or vegan options, plus bread, salad, rice, hot mixture, and sometimes a dessert, all for under $8. One problem with the buffet, is you sometimes have to wait for rice as they usually don't have a lot sitting out ready when you are. On the flip side, fresh rice! I've never ordered off the menu, as the buffet is always too mouth-watering to resist. I've been here countless times and it is always great. The staff are very friendly and remember us from previous visits, regardless of how long between visits. They keep telling us they are opening a second location in the 2700 block of Pembina Highway, but we've been waiting for a year since we first heard the news and it doesn't appear to be any closer to reality. Hopefully it will open sooner than later, and they won't change their pricing for the second location.

reasonably priced - Edit
When we were there (at the buffet), we saw rice, salad, some yogurt dessert- all in all, around 4 options for the vegan (so no dessert for us). We found the food not as spicy as most Indian places in Asia (Singapore, possibly Thailand as well). We liked the food. 15.90 CND all in all (the two of us got the buffet option). Free plain water.

Best value for Indian buffet in Winnipeg - Edit
Very reasonably priced delicious buffet. If you order off the menu, we recomment the masala dosa which is a long(twice as big as you expect) rice crepe filled with delicious paneer cheese, and you get a small side bowl of dhal with it. The first time we went there we ordered off the menu and had some lovely chapatis. The next time, we went for the buffet, they remembered us and brought us fresh chapatis, when other tables only received nan bread, how nice! I have paid more than twice($17-$18) as much for the buffet in other Winnipeg Indian restauraunts and the only difference is that in the more expensive restauraunts - samosas, and a desert(rice pudding, greasy sugar rings, indian "fudge") that I am always too full to eat are included. And the more expensive restauraunts never include fresh flat breads(but Pujab Sweet House does), only lentil crackers. So you are better off to go to the buffet at Punjab Sweet house and if you have any room left, order samosas or pick some sweets to take home.
