Natalie Porkman

Tried the Natalie Porkman, General Tso’s and disco stick roll. All very tasty. Wanted to try the Reuben egg roll but they were out. Egg roll a bit greasy (it’s fried so not unexpected). Giant egg roll is a sight to be seen.

Pros: Some healthy options, Plenty of seating, Good music

In DC? GO HERE!

The food here is amazing. Like, I've literally said "Wow" after every new thing I've tried. I don't even know what dish to recommend. I tried to research what was good here, and I think the answer might just be everything.

100% I would bring out of town guests here if we're near the H Street neighborhood, and I would recommend that this be the vegan restaurant where you eat in DC if you've got limited time. I'm sure the star rating would be higher, but they were limited to 4 star ratings until going vegan in May 2018.

Pros: Crazy how good the food is, Large portions

Bruh.

Stop trying to decide where you want to go and go here. Seriously. Reasonable prices and fat kid portions. Everything on the menu sounded so good that I couldn’t choose, so I got THREE things! Enough for three meals, but these are the kind of leftovers I can get excited about. I’m confident that I could get my meat-loving boyfriend to eat here and enjoy it as well, and that’s saying a LOT.

Pros: filling, Amazing flavor!!, I now know what I would select as my last meal.

Cons: slow delivery , I don’t live here so can’t eat it every day.

Plant-based Asian Fusion

This place is such a gem - it's a fun, fresh take on bowls of food in the fast casual setting. However, it makes it more interesting to be here at Pow Pow with a nice tiger and subway (Tokyo?) theme.

The food is all plant-based, so, yeah, go wild with whatever you want. However, if you're like me, probably best to bring friends so you can eat a little bit of many things. I hate just ordering 2 dishes and being stuffed. If you order a small size bowl, you can probably eat that and an appetizer/ starter, but, probably not?

Lots of fake meat everywhere - chik'n and spice and sesame galore. The fake feta is made in house and quite tasty. The sauces are good too.

You'll be happy you came here. It's a little different and a lot of flavor. Go for half greens and half rice mix (rice, quinoa and wild rice) or all rice mix or all greens...

The sweet and sour pork is quite popular if you miss that flavor. The fries with kimchi and amazing sauces will make you so full! Seriously, share. There are a lot of nuts here, and definitely soy and gluten. So, as long as you're just plant-based, you can eat everything. If you're avoiding any of those (soy or gluten), you may have it a tad bit harder...

Pros: Plant-based, Fusion, Marks menu

Cons: One gluten-free standard menu dish, Lots of soy

Great!

The food was warm and delicious and the [censored] meats are made in house, the BIG egg role was superb. One complaint is that they don’t offer soy sauce which I personally put on everything.

Pros: lots of vegan options , good food

Cons: no soy sauce:(

Delicious and filling!!

I stopped by here one day because I was intrigued by the new, plant based menu. I ordered The General’s Chicken. It was a generous portion for a single. From what I remember, it came with the ‘chicken’, rice, salad, tomatoes and broccoli. It was delicious and seasoned very well. I ordered the dessert as well - but didn’t care too much for it. It was probably the texture. I could definitely see myself coming back here though!

Pros: Customer service , Delicious food , Generous portions

Cons: Dessert options lacking

Best Veg Option in DC

Unlimited vegan/veg options with amazing flavors! My go-to in the city. My favs are the Purity Bowl and Yoga Dragon.

The app won’t let me give five stars since Pow Pow also offers other-than-vegan/veg options, but this place is five stars 100%! Prepare to become addicted.

solid comfort food

My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed our bowls. She had the winter purity bowl and I had the yoga dragon-both had great flavors, very satisfying and would definitely order again. We enjoyed it better than Fare Well, the all vegan restaurant down the street. The Thai pumpkin soup was excellent, but the vegan mozzarella was not good—avoid at all costs. Overall a solid meal.

Filling, Flavorful, and VEGAN!

I am so jealous of the hungry vegans of DC. They have free reign to visit Pow Pow anytime they wish! A local friend told me Pow Pow was a must-try on my recent visit to DC. I am a chronic over-orderer because I love to try everything on the menu. We started with Trolley Fries because my inner Irish demanded we do so. The staff informed us that the white cheese on the fries is vegan, house-made. SCORE!!

Next, we tried the Natalie Porkman, which is Sweet & Sour Pork with house-made Seitan. It was to die for!! Next up was Girl from Iwo Jima. I am stunned at how good the house-made vegan feta was!! They said the feta is also on the WuBanger (orange chicken), FYI. Vegan cheese is notoriously hard to pull off, but they have NAILED IT. Finally, we tasted the Hong Kong Phooey. It was perfect in every way. Pow Pow is a must for fellow vegans travelling to DC!

Pros: Vegan Chef, Incredible atmosphere, fast and casual

Cons: behind Trolley stop, typical DC parking sitation

Great for allergies and vegans!

With 8 menu items marked as vegan without needing to alter anything is great, plus monthly vegan specials so I'm. It eating the same thing over and over.

Everything is clearly marked so I don't even have to ask or just *hope* that someone remembers to exclude meat or dairy is a huge plus for me.

The seitan is made in house too.

Pros: Excellent fresh food, Labeled for allergies and dietary restrictions , Monthly vegan specials

Cons: Fast casual wait times can be 15minutes, Have to park on side street or pay for parking
