Not good - Edit
We were super excited to try this place, but honestly it was disappointing. We ordered the sweet and sour chick’n, and a side of dumplings, but both had a strange taste and we ended up barely eating anything. The employees were friendly, but the restaurant itself was dirty and the music was extremely loud. Maybe we just didn’t try the best menu items or something, but I don’t understand why this place has such great reviews. It’s also pretty expensive.

Good food - Edit
The food was good, but the ordering process was confusing and it took longer than expected to get our food. We thought we’d been forgotten. However, the order came out perfectly and we enjoyed our meal. We had three different bowls and a fried rice meal. We didn’t care for the sweet potato starter, but the sweet potato in the bowl was delicious.

Pretty good, could tone down the salt level - Edit
We found this place close to the Smithsonian and monuments and gave the staff a bit of a challenge when we changed our mind about the size of the bowls we wanted, after we ordered. They were very accommodating and helped us kindly. We had an angry noodle bowl and a Buddha bowl We all felt the food was a good value, but salty, and we had to drink a lot of water afterwards. It would be great if they could adjust the salt but I would go back if i was in the area again anyway.

Something different & delicious! - Edit
We are in town from Philly and wanted some takeout to end the day. This place exceeded our expectations! We split the Korean bbq bowl and the firecracker bowl. One of them I think was labeled ‘spicy - it definitely had a kick but wasn’t unbearable. The flavors were different than most other Asian foods I’ve tried - sweet, spicy, tangy, all the flavors and textures in one. Highly recommend!

Good, but limited plant-based options - Edit
Pow pow advertises an all vegan menu, but the majority of the dishes use chick'n, which we don't care for. We got the Natalie Porkman bowl, which was tasty. We noticed that the online menu did not exactly reflect what was available in store, and varies from store to store. We also got the wonton chips with salsa, which was good and the salsa was spicy. If you're looking for a truly plant-based option, you might consider another restaurant.

The purity bowl was to die for! the flavors and textures were really on point. The fried rice could use some more flavor so be sure to get a sauce to go with it.

Confused. - Edit
This place consistently gets great reviews, but I thought the food was just OK. It was good, not great, especially for the price. My $18 meal should’ve been $8. I’ll give it another try though.

Definitely get the fusion bowls - Edit
They really do well with the fake meats in the fusion bowls, I was so happy when they made the menu fully vegan. Also one of the few places in town to get vegan poutine. It's not perfect - it's not like in Canada - but it's still pretty darn tasty.

Generous portions! - Edit
We were excited to see that this was so close to the Airbnb where we are staying, which is an amazing part of town. We ordered the General’s Chicken which my husband loved, and the Yoga Dragon. We got the larger size and it is a lot of food! I would recommend getting extra sauce. The mock chicken is delicious! We also ordered 3 appetizers: Taiwanese Fried Buffalo Mozzarella (fantastic), Firecracker Fingers (sauce is perfect) and Sichuan Dumplings. I ordered the dumplings fried and they didn’t transport well, so would recommend steamed. Overall, wonderful experience, highly recommended.

Couldn't Even Order - Edit
First of all, you can't go in due to you know what. So they have an order window. I stand at the "order window", they say they'll be with me in a moment. I asked if they would bring a menu, because I can not see the small print on the wall menu. They tell me no paper menus, I'll have to look online. I look online to find a bunch of items I have questions about, like "what do they use as a chicken" replacement. So I tell them I'm ready , then they say I have to order online. Smh... Why though? I'm standing right here and I have questions🤦🏾

We loved our meal here. The food was creative and tasty. My only critiques are the food tends to be overly salty and they don't serve tap water. You have to order bottles.

I, too, agree, that it was salty. You can fill your own cup or bottle by the condiment and napkin station.

The best - Edit
This is one of my favorite vegan restaurants in the DC area. They have some great healthy options and large portion sizes. I really enjoy both the Mom's Style veggie fried rice and the Natalie Porkman. Their vegan chik'n is also incredible. If you haven't tried their sister restaurant Bubbies Plant Burgers, I also highly recommend!
