good but could be better - Edit
really nice atmosphere and VERY friendly staff, however limited food options for vegans. I had the pizza with garlic and olive oil with the daiya cheese (which is still on the menu) and mushrooms and it was good. I wish they didn't put cheese in their regular pizza sauce.

the most mediocre pizza you could ever have - Edit
i remember not minding this place much when i first went vegan 8 years ago. obviously, since then i’ve experienced a number of high quality vegan pizzas. this is probably the worst vegan pizza ever. the only vegan “sauce” they have is a garlic and oil that is literally saturating the pizza. very little flavor and doughy. also there was a piece of sausage in my slice which hopefully i can give them the benefit of the doubt about, but it made me lose my appetite entirely. the waiter was very friendly, but the food is 1/10. don’t waste your money and go to nepals cafe instead

At least they had vegan cheese - Edit
Found this place nearby and was happy to see they offered vegan cheese.
Read moreIt took a while to get someone attention to come serve us, and once we did the girl said “one moment” and walked over to another girl who was frantically busy and told her to serve us, then she continued to stand around.
We notice there were a lot of workers, yet only one was having to run around frantically to keep tables in order, we felt bad for her.
Most of the pizzas automatically came with real cheese or meat, so we ordered one asking to remove the meat, and swap the cheese for vegan cheese.
We then saw you could get a veggie Patty, so we asked to have that on the side so we could cut it up and put it on the pizza and just replied “no, we can’t do that” (?) okay..
When the pizza came out and we thanked the guy he was deadpan, put the pizza down and walked away. Just felt like lack of training or something.
The chips were really nice and the pizza was great too. Good food, but meh experience
Pros: Option of vegan cheese, Sitting outdoor area, Chips
Cons: Customer service needs work, No napkins on tables, No already veg options in menu, must be edited

Pizza was OK, nice they have vegan options - Edit
Vegan food is hard to find in Estes park. The Indian place is your best bet. But our group wanted pizza so we went here. The pizza was nothing to write home about but was at least food to eat. Super bready. Some people might love that. I wasn’t told about the sauce not being vegan - not stoked about that.
Read moreWouldn’t be at the top of my list. 2.5 stars but rounds up for having vegan cheese. A lot of restaurants don’t sell much veg food so it’s costly to keep on the menu.

Satisfying pizza! - Edit
We ordered the veggie pizza with vegan cheese. It was delicious and they did a good job with getting the cheese to melt. After a busy day of hiking this hit the spot!

Not very vegan friendly - Edit
They advertise vegan crust but their only sauce option is a garlic oil. I’m not a fan of vegan cheese so I didn’t get it and it was a pretty bad/ dry pizza.

Can’t get orders right - Edit
I requested a veggie pizza made with vegan cheese. Once my pizza arrived it was served with mozzarellas. They remade my pizza and added the vegan cheese, but then added pepperoni to the pizza. Don’t come here. It’s not worth your time. Would give zero stars if possible

Vegan Burger and Pizza - Edit
We went here with our extended non-vegan family. The vegan options are slim picking in Estes Park and it's something all restaurants could work on, so I'm giving a star just for having some options on the menu. We got the vegan burger and the Rustic Pizza with garlic olive oil base and no cheese. All of the pizza sauces contain cheese. They do have daiya cheese, but we're not the biggest fan. The food sufficed, but we probably won't return unless we're socially inclined to do so with other non-vegan friends/family.

Overpriced, not very vegan friendly - Edit
In all transparency, I decided not to eat here.
Read moreThey have no vegan sauce available for the pizza as the marinara contains parmesan. The only option is to have olive oil added instead. They also no longer have vegan pepperoni as the description states.
Prices are extraordinarily high; a regular 12 inch pizza with some veggies, no sauce and vegan cheese costs $30. Even other pizza places in touristy mountain towns (i.e. Piante Pizzeria in Breckenridge) cost $10 less and have better topping options.
If you really feel the desire for pizza in Estes Park, they do at least have vegan cheese. But I'd recommend somewhere else with more vegan options and better prices.
Pros: Has vegan cheese
Cons: Not vegan friendly, Overpriced

Messed up order badly - Edit
Ordered a build your own pizza will all vegan ingredients. Delivered the “vegan” pizza to the table and after I ate one slice told me they made it with real cheese. As someone who is vegan with a dairy allergy, I am very upset with this experience.

Little vegan options - Edit
When I looked over the menu and asked the server what he knew about the vegan options it looked like there weren't very many. The crust is vegan, the only base that is is the garlic olive oil, and they have Daiya cheese. I didn't see vegan pepperoni or many burger options. Pizza toppings are charged individually. Kinda pricey but we got a window seat looking out to the river! The patio seating looked even cooler. I'm not sure I'll be back but I'm glad I went.

Salad Bar! - Edit
A rare salad bar find...not big but lots of veggies. Unfortunately the marinara sauce isn’t even vegan. Strange. But the menu is clearly marked for the few items they have. The hummus wrap was yum.

They DO have vegan cheese - Edit
Note: Unlike what's stated in a previous review, as of Aug 2017, they do have both Daiya cheese and vegan pepperoni.
Read morePoppy's is a treat; cute little place right on the creek. While the only vegan pizza sauce is garlic and olive oil, it's really tasty. (I always ask for light on the garlic/light on the vegan cheese so it's not a grease bomb) We had a family dinner here tonight and everyone loved it. We got vegan pepperoni and roasted red peppers and had plenty of food.
It's not the cheapest pie (our vegan large with three toppings was just under 35 bucks) but right on par for the area and it's a good deal for 4 people considering the local prices and good quality/ambiance.
It's great that they have vegan pepperoni too, plus a yummy hummus pizza too.

Disappointed and over priced - Edit
As a vegan I did my research before going on vacation. I was very excited about this place they looked like they had several vegan options. But after going to the café and asking questions I found out all their bread contains dairy or egg. Which is misleading because they had a vegan burger on the menu. In their fries are not vegan. After looking at the menu and asking all my questions the only thing you can eat would be a vegan pizza which they do have vegan cheese and a salad or a vegan burger without the buns. The waitress was very nice answering all my questions and making accommodations for me and my vegan husband. I got the vegan burger without the bread which was very plain and not that great. I didn't even finish it I was very disappointed. The next day we went to peppers Mexican Grill and there are so many options for vegans that we went there twice that week it's like a chipotle but better and great prices too. As a vegan there is not a lot of options in this area.

Need more Vegan sauce Options for the Pizza - Edit
My wife and I (both vegans) were excited to eat here since they offered a non-dairy cheese. They have 4 different sauces that you have on the pizza. Sadly only one of them doesn't contain parmesan cheese. The garlic and Olive oil sauce. I didn't want a sauce with heavy oil and my wife has an allergy to garlic so we had a sauceless pizza with daiya cheese and mushrooms. Additional Toppings and Daiya Cheese are expensive. We also had a wrap with Yves vegan Pepperoni that was really good. Pizza was decent too. Not the best pizza but after a day of hiking at RMNP anything would have tasted good.
Read morePros: a few different vegan options, great location in downtown estes park

Yeah, they do need to have a basic marinara with no parm. That'd be easy to do! The pizzas are good, and I'm glad they're venturing further into vegan territory :)

Best option in town - Edit
I was very surprised by how vegan-friendly Poppy's is. The menu clearly denotes what is and is not vegan, they offer Daiya mozz for their pizza, and even serve vegan pepperoni! When I made some more inquiries about available vegan options with the staff they were very knowledgeable and if they didn't know, happily consulted with someone who did. Unfortunately the breads are not vegan so I would stay away from the sandwiches but the pizza dough is fine if you get the garlic and olive oil sauce. The rest contain parmesan. The patio is nice but unfortunately not dog friendly. I had to walk my dog while waiting for our food and halfway through eating just to get her out of the sun (we did not yet have a house to leave her in!) because the manager told us we could not have her inside the fence even though she was just sleeping in the shade. This was after I saw two other dogs inside the fence who were not told to move.

Make your own *VEGAN* pizza place - Edit
You can create your pizza by choosing size (individual, small, medium or large), crust (gluten-free available or you can substitute crust for shreddded zucchini), sauce (out of 5 is garlic & olive oil the only vegan), choose from wide variety of veggies and you can opt for Daiya cheese on top. The whole family was happy.
