Wouldn't recommend

Boring food, was disappointed with my takeaway. Choose something else.

Boring, not good

I have tasted four different dishes from Planta Planta. A burger with fries, butter tikka, nuggets and mushrooms.

The burger is pretty boring but neither really bad nor good. The tikka was boring and I would much rather have a larger and much tastier version from an Indian restaurant. The nuggets were bland and hard. The mushrooms were soggy and plain.

My non-vegan friends were not impressed at all. My vegan coworkers were a bit more happy with the food. But the general consensus is that Planta Planta needs improvement.

It seems uninspired. Don't do burgers just because they're popular if you're not passionate about burgers or make good burgers. Their menu includes burgers, Mexican inspired dishes, Wraps and Indian inspired dishes. It's rarely a good sign that a restaurant doesn't have a clear focus. I think they need a new concept.

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Lacks taste

Good ingredients but bland

Food is actually made from good ingredients, but it seriously lacks flavour! They have cashew yoghurt for example, which I think is quite nice (I hate it when vegan food made from just oil or other ingredients without any nutrition to them). I just really feel like they’re scared of spices. And everything they make from seitan is chewy.

One plus is the quite large sized portions (we had the Tikka Masala) 😊

2.5 -Indian, Mexican, American + Asian(?) Takeaway Joint Lacks Quality and Heart

So, this is your typical “run by non-vegans”-vegan place. I mean, they surely mean well, however:

1) Leather stools, for one.
2) Burger lacked a real flavor profile and was just, well, meh...
3. Their “Super” Butter Tikka had a funny texture to it. As if it was mostly blended veggies with a load of stock for taste and then some generic Tikka Masala spice mix. Maybe some corn starch for thickening? Rice were piping hot and overcooked jasmine rice, which bore no resemblance to anything Indian, whilst the curry was lukewarm. No reason whatsoever for all the pickled red onions or the massive amount of vegan yoghurt. The oyster mushrooms were cooked poorly, too, and not sure if they were going for a “chicken” type thing with them, but their place in the dish was off.
4. Burrito was simply, well, a boring burrito. For 95,- you’d better make one that’s a) bigger, and b) a whole lot tastier.

Overall it seems like two guys who had a quick idea, which is shown by the fact that they lack website and store preparations to be “fully ready” for opening. They openly admit to not bring vegan, but that vegan food is “where it’s at these days.” The place will do if you’re desperate for vegan food and can’t find anywhere else to go. Their menu says it all: Indian, Mexican, American, Italian and Asian (I’m not sure what their ‘Kernel Sanders’ salad aspires to) fast food in one small joint…

Quick visit equals quick review

I purchased some of the day's leftovers via Too Good To Go, which was Chilli Sin Carne on this occasion.
It was a very quick visit as I was only picking up a pre-packaged meal. They provided me with some simple reheating instructions and wished me well.
The dish was done well, and the rice was cooked perfectly. It could have had a bit more chilli, but that is probably a personal preference.
I am looking forward to a proper visit where I can try some of their other dishes.

Pros: Nice and polite service by the Twins, Delicious

Cons: Parking is limited - not their fault.
