Hug us the best! The best GF bakery I’ve experienced! Plan to go everyday.

I found HUG through TikTok. This place is without a doubt the best gluten free bakery I’ve ever experienced and I’m a natural chef and physician. I’ve been celiac my whole life and this is the way bread should taste. I purchased extra and survived my entire trip with HUG provisions. Cute outdoor seating. Everything was delish. I wish they shipped to the US. I would return to Copenhagen to go back to HUG bakery.

Pros: Rolls, Coffee pastries , Croissant

Cons: They don’t ship to the US, My stomach wasn’t big enough to eat everything

Many vegan options for taking-out

Let's start by mentioning that there is just a counter for two inside, and there are a few tables in the terrace; so think of it as a take-out bakery (at least during cold weather).

They have many clearly labeled vegan options.
We had the cinnamon roll and a Napoleon-hat shaped almond pastry.
Both were yummy.

It's not centrally located, but it's close enough to a couple of museums and the park, so it's a good spot to take away some pastries.

Pros: vegan options, labels vegan options

Cons: not all vegan

Fully gluten free

Partner found this gem on her gluten free app. She has struggled to find gluten free options in Europe so this was a good send. Not fully vegan but plenty vegan options, and delicious!

Not as many vegan options of traditional treats

A small, cozy bakery a bit out of the way of all the "touristy" things. The half-open concept of the store lets you watch the bakers making the treat, which is a nice touch. There are several vegan treats like cupcakes and some cake slices. There was only one more traditional baked good, in this case, snegl, which was a little disappointing. Overall, good for a quick stop, but nothing super special.

Pros: Allergy-friendly, Cozy

Cons: Pricey, Nothing super special

Lovely small Bakery

A really small Place with only two seats inside (outside /- 6 places)
The staff was very friendly.
There were 2 options of cinnamon rolls who were vegan and 3 different desserts who were vegan, as well as all the different sorts of bread.
I took 1 of the cinnamon rolls and it tasted good.

Pros: Lovely Bakery, Good cinnamon roll

Tasty organic glutenfree bread and baked goods - wish there would be more vegan

They do “vegan wednesday” wich is great!! And I am so happy for the option of fresh baked organic glutenfree bread and baked goods. It is just a shame that most vegan options are only available on those wednesdays like their pizzaslize that is just so delicious with vegan cheese actually worth eating.

Best bakery

Love this amazing bakery. They have a lot of vegan and glutenfree (also both together) options. The danish buns and the cinnemon rolls are super tasty and also cheap for denmark. For me the best bakery :)

Not happy

The apricot cake i got was raw and not well cooked and the coffee was not good (this might be due to the fact that i am extremely picky with coffee)

Open new doors to vegan danish pastries

Almost gave up hope of eating danish pastries once I couldn't take lactose anymore, but thanks to HUG this isn't an issue anymore.

Pros: Nice service, Great opening hours, Good range of food

Cons: Watch your step on the way in.

Good organic cakes

At H.U.G. bakery you find numerous of vegan cakes and such (Wednesday are 100 % vegan!), besides the ordinary stuff like bread.
All their products are organic. However, they are all gluten-free too. That is great if you are looking for that. But my experience is that the gluten-free product often are more boring and dry. And H.U.G. is, unfortunately, not an exception. They do the gluten-free variants better than usual, however. So that's a plus.
At my first visit, I had a "Hindbærsnitte" (raspberry slice) and a peanutbutter cookie. They where both okay, but not mindblowing great. The Hindbærsnitte is different than usual, as the bread i double as thick as normal, meaning that one Hindbærsnitte is almost a whole "meal" by itself.
Their cakes are a bit pricy, and the prices are comparable to Danish bakery chains like Emmerys.

I only end up giving H.U.G. 3 stars. If they add non-gluten-free options to their vegan selection, they will get the 4th star.
But I do recommend you to visit H.U.G., especially if you are looking for som glutenfree, organic, vegan cakes and bread.

Pros: Many vegan options, Organic, Vegan Wednesday

Cons: All gluten-free, A bit pricy
