It was ok - Edit
We had the energizing detox juice which was the best thing we had there.
Read moreThe mushroom and onion rosti is literally only mushroom, onion, potatoes and a bit of was tasted like dijon mustard. It was a bit bland. Would need sauce or something.
My friend got the mushroom crepe, he liked it ok.
We got the cheese stick, it came with 2 sauces. The stick had a little sweet taste that I didn't enjoy.
We also had the croissant which was good but it was more like a sweet bread shaped into a croissant.
I was excited to read the menu but the taste was just ok so I am not sure that I want to go back.

I visited Plant multiple times during my stay in town. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place as well as the people who were very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and they also have some desserts and coffee! It gets quite busy around lunch and dinner.

Amazing Food at a Low Price - Edit
I managed a smoothie, appetizer, & entree for under 14 USD. In the US the entree alone would be 14 USD. Everything tasted incredible too.

THE vegan restaurant - Edit
If there is just one restaurant you can go to, go there. They have extremely delicious food, well priced and a huge variety, including typical South African food like biltong and bobotie, international classics like tacos or mac and cheese and awesome desserts. I am even going to celebrate my wedding there.

OK food, mild tastes - Edit
I was there on 19th of April and ate mushrooms starter and main dish (the first in Speciality list) and both were OK, nothing really special. Would suggest to take some burger maybe and smoothies were not balanced taste as well!

Decent food, the lemon meringue cupcake really made the day. - Edit
Outdoor seating was available, a lovely quaint place to be at sunset. Loads of options on the menu. The mushroom/cheese burger was good (slightly dry) and the Dirty mac 'n Cheese was super dry so we took a doggy-bag & doctored it at home. An abundance of

Perfectly Veganized South African Faves! - Edit
I was so excited to try Plant - mainly because I heard that it's pancakes are out of this world, but it turned out to offer so much more!
Read moreWe rolled in on a lazy Thursday afternoon and ordered the bobotjie, carbonara and pancakes for dessert. The presentation of my bobotjie was flawless! It came with a flavourful chutney and every bite was fabulous. The carbonara was creamy, and the mushroom 'bacon' on point! Finally, the pancakes were very bit as delicious as we imagined, and I wish we had more time to come in and try the milktarts, chocolat au pain and other sweet treats available! Cape Town, you are so lucky to have this gem in your city! I would be coming in every weekend for brunch if I was a local. Highly recommend.
Pros: Bobotjie & Pancakes, Great, chilled atmosphere, Selection of sweets and desserts

so good! a must try when in Capetown - Edit
Huge variety of offerings. All 100% vegan and so delicious! I went there 5 times when I was in Capetown but unfortunately wasn't able to try everything. Try their rawvegan cheesecake and Quesadillas. A main dish is around 60-80 Rands, so very affordable.

Okay - Edit
The restaurant itself is awesome with friendly staff and great music. However, the food was underwhelming. The Buddha bowl was just overcooked veg, chickpeas and nuts (the only fresh item was the basil). It was way too heavy and not what I was expecting, given the photos on the website. The mezze plate was also OK but nothing special. The milk tart lacked flavour but at least the brownie was good. Given the rise in vegan options and restaurants, I think Plant will eventually have to up their game to compete.

We had brunch and it was amazing. The Carbonara had a bit of a kick to it that was perhaps not expected but the traditional Bobotie was delicious. Still can’t believe how smooth the cheesecake was....and mushroom biltong is my new addiction lol

I went a few times and had a variety of dishes from bobotie to quesadillas to pancakes, and a milkshake! The staff was very helpful and the food was delicious, plus it’s a nice atmosphere with WiFi. A main will go for 70-90 rand, and they also have a nice little bakery case and muffins available.

QUALITY OF FOOD OF PLANT RESTAURANT CAPE TOWN - Edit
I am a vegan and non-religious. The food we tried were excellent, fresh. The location is great. Unfortunately the Big black oversized Buddha in the window was a put off. A bit like shoving the restaurants religion into ones face.
Read moreI am overall - thankful that vegan food places are rising up everywhere. I just think the restaurant owners should rather focus on veganism and saving the earth and animals that trying to shove religion of whom most people have had enough of in their customers faces.

Cons: The big fat black buddha sitting in the window , None, None
