Disappointing but hopeful - Edit
Beautiful ambience and good service. The food though was disappointing. I had the chilli-poppers, potstickers, bootie and tiramisu. I would not order any of these again, as they were dry, seemed to have been on the shelves too long, and tasteless. I hope that my experience was the exception and post Covid enough feet goes through this cute spot, to ensure fresh food.

Good Vegan lunch buffet - Edit
Went for Sunday lunch to their themed Greek buffet
Read moreFood was good.
The home made lemonade is really fizzy and fresh.the rest of the table had green juice ..also recommended.
Buffet consisted of a
Salad..typical radish cucumber lettuce with some crispy pita..
Spinach pies..the pastry was a little thick.. but ok.
Phyllo pastry with cream cheese..good
Pita with felafel humus salad etc ..very good
And deserts
The baclava..it was really good..more nuts and dates than pastry..felt healthy 😂
And a semolina cake..which was ok..not really enjoyed by our table.(semolina mixed with carob? As the base..custard layered on top..)
All in all ..a really good value 5 course vegan lunch for R130.(for the food portion)

Complete disappointment - Edit
We ordered the Schnitzel and the BBQ ribs with UberEats. The pictures I added show the awfulness of our dishes and how much we regret our choice of ordering here.
Read moreWhile they are supposed to be two different dishes they are clearly the same chunk of dough. The bbq sauce is plain tomato sauce and the mushroom sauce that was described in the menu wasn’t sent. And the salad that they have sent are plain and tasteless. The difference with what the menu shows is huge.
We had dinner here a week ago and had quite a pleasant experience, but this shows total lack of interest for their customers. Compared to the great level of service shown in other places this is unacceptable. A great disappointment.
I hope you do a deep revision of the services you provide. I’m sorry if this review is too harsh but we chose this restaurant for our las meal here and it was a complete failure.

We ate there twice when we were in Capetown and enjoyed it very much. Good food, good atmosphere and fair prices. You can sit outside and inside.

Pastries!!! - Edit
Plant was the best option I found for cooked vegan breakfast in the Long Street area. Coffee was good, there was a good range of stuff on the menu and I liked the atmosphere. I came back several times though just to get pastries to take away. They had croissants, pain au chocolate, churros and more and all were delicious.

Decent breakfast - Edit
Great venue with a lot of choice. I visited for breakfast. Had a broad choice. The English Breakfast wrap was not at all like an English breakfast but it was nice nevertheless. Good ambience and friendly staff.

I love going to this place when I am in CT. The food is excellent and really well priced. The nachos are by far my favourite dish at Plant.

AMAZING FOOD! - Edit
We went there a couple of times in January and now that we’re back in Cape Town it’s the first restaurant went back to. We tried almost every dish they have and it is absolutely AMAZING! The bourguignon is to die for! The wraps are amazing and the caramel cake is mind-blowing!

Great - Edit
We ordered almost every day while in Cape Town and also ate there a few times.
Read moreThe staff is super nice and the food is amazing. We even loved the seitan, which we normally don‘t like that much. But plant uses just the right spices.
Our favorites are the plant burger and the Spaghetti. Bobotie, lasagna, koksisters and Cocktails were great too, actually everything was too good to be True.

Love it - Edit
When I ask the waitress about what vegan options they have, and she kindly replies that everything is vegan, I decided that I have to try everything on the menu. Unfortunately I couldn't eat that much which means they have a lot of vegan options. Decided to take some for take away as well for when I have some space in my stomach again. Loved it!

Read moreUsed the 2 for 1 entertainer again. Loved their chocolate strawberry pancake with salted caramel icecream. Enjoyed the Plant burger but would like to see chips offered as the corn and 4 sticks of cucumber and carrots are not filling enough.
Benny was a nice and friendly waiter, brought some extra sour cream sause and corn for us.
The cafe is quite a relaxing and refreshing place to go. Like the deco.

Plant is quite pricy but we used an entertainer 2 for 1 deal. The food was well presented but the portions are small and the flavours were ok, I would not be able to say it was wow. The staff was friendly. There is free wifi.

Constantly disappointed - Edit
This is very sad to say as I really do want to support local vegan restaurants in my city but everytime I try plant the food is just not good. As it is one of the few fully vegan restaurants in Cape Town I keep giving them chance after chance in hopes that the food has somehow gotten better with new ownership, new chefs or new options on the menu but it is always a disappoinment. The food is just not very good and everyone I have gone with to the restaurant or sent to the restaurant when asking for vegan options have always come back to me with bad reviews so I have since stopped recommending it. I really do hope that it gets better as it has such potential.

Pretty disappointing - Edit
I went here after hearing some glowing views. I got the dirty mac and cheese and my partner ordered the nachos. Both meals were extremely bland. The dirty mac and cheese tasted like plain pasta with a thin flour tasting sauce. The nachos were better, but nothing to go back for. It is otherwise a beautiful little cafe style restaraunt and excellent customer service. Our food was prepared in less than 10 minutes. Prices were reasonable for portion sizes.

Disappointed - Edit
I had the pho, pot stickers and quesadilla. I had 2 sips of the soup and couldn’t eat any more. Tasted like straight vinegar. The guacamole that came with the quesadilla tasted gross and old. The “cashew sour cream” was basically water. Service was horrible. Asked twice to get my water refilled and it never happened. Pot stickers were good. But I will never recommend this place nor will I return!
