Best spot after hiking - Edit
After coming down from hiking, this Restaurant is a surprising gem. A few vegetarian/vegan options and very nice owners. Only the fajitas couldn't be veganised.

Everything in the vegetarian section of the menu either is vegan or can be made vegan. The food was delicious. The owner is really nice and knows his stuff.

Delicious food and big portions - Edit
Very nice staff, food is delicious, portions are big. I am vegetarian, but there are also vegan options. Caco bread as a starter, chickpea and sweet potato curry as a main dish. Good choice in Madeira.

We absolutely loved Planalto. The vegetarian Fajita, Bolo do Caco and Poncha were amazing. And the owners are so super friendly and welcoming. The owner told us a lot about original Madeiran food and the way they make it. 5/5, just not possible here because they also have non-veggie food on the menu.
