Everything here is SO GOOD!!! The entire menu is vegan, so go crazy!! The beer flight is a must… 50 oz. for $15. The curry sweet potato fries are to DIE FOR!! A must visit if you’re in the area.

I've been to Pig Minds more times than I can count and never have had anything bad, some things are definitely better than others, but never bad. Match their great food with great beer and you find why they've become my go to spot to eat out when friends and family visit. The only issue is it can get busy, and therefore at dinner time there is a long wait to get in and the quality of service falls even with the new extension. Over all, this place is an absolute must visit.

The food here is to die for. Whenever we even remotely go nearby northern Illinois, we go out of our way to get food. I've tried a few vegan places, but this one awes everytime. I could go on and on, just try it.

I live almost an hour away but I still make the trip just to go to this place every time I’m out that way. Super friendly and accommodating staff, good prices also! I get something new every time I’m there and never leave disappointed. I love their outdoor seating and overall environment. Their hand-cut fries are TO DIE FOR! Not vegan - but this place keeps drawing us back in for the outstanding food and delicious custom cocktail concoctions that they change up weekly! Love that they make the effort to know, remember, and greet returning customers. All of them are super helpful and friendly when you are getting info or recommendations. Add that they host live music, comedians, and entertainment behind the bar with their hysterical banter- this has become a favorite for the awesome atmosphere. Highly reccomend! Cheesy Mac.... Roasted Brussels... and quesadilla burger are amazing and should not be passed up!

Read moreI had the BBQ Porky Sandwich, which honestly was better than any real pork sandwich that I can remember from my hypocritical former life as a meat eater. It was tangy, slightly sweet, and had a really rich mesquite smoked flavor. The bread bun was equally great. I always skip eating buns at restaurants, but not here. The BBQ is topped with a light and creamy slaw that perfectly cut the tangy sweetness. I chose a side of grilled brocolini that was actually grilled on a grill (imagine that!), and perfectly so.
My wife had the Pig Minds burger that she loved. This is not your '90s campus cafe's black bean burger. Unlike the BBQ sandwich though, which was a 1:1 pork doppelganger, the burger had more of its own character. I guess we have to call anything with this form a burger though unfortunately, even if the texture is the only thing they share. Whatever it's called, it tasted stellar. Crispy and golden on the outside and soft on the inside. The bun was another home run, and just puts burger joints to shame.
We shared a side of fried chickpeas, which went perfectly with the beer. They were nice and hot, straight out of the fryer and tossed with chopped green onions.
I drank the Prunus IPA. All drafts below 7% are special on Thursdays, so it was $3 for 16oz. I was expecting the worst but my wife insisted on Prunus and I'm glad for it. It was a really refreshing light IPA with just a faint hint of peach. This is a good one to pair with the tangy food and salty appetizers.
Great service too. We sat outside in their shaded patio, surrounded by vines and fresh air in the country-side. It was the perfect summer meal.
