Perfect breakfast place - Edit
Came here to have a BLT sandwich as well as a pain au Chocolat. The sandwich was delicious and the pastry was so large that we were done after sharing one.
Read moreCame back to try the tuna sandwich for on the road and that one was just as good.
I also like the coffee a lot as it had a smooth taste.
The fair price point makes this one a really good choice.

Sweet little sandwich shop feel - Edit
Lovely staff and a good selection of food. I had the toasted tuna panini which was really good. I’m not normally a fan of Sheese but actually it didn’t overpower it. Cooked perfectly!

Visited on a Sunday morning. Had the full breakfast and a smoothie. Cooked breakfast was delicious and not greasy, which makes a nice change. Smoothie was one of the best I’ve ever had. Properly made and very enjoyable! Staff are great and very welcoming.

Bland Food - Edit
2/5 . I’ve eaten here twice, a few years apart. Both times I found the food to be so bland. Last time I asked for a lemon to squeeze into the food to make it taste better.

A 'Picnic' Lunch in Glasgow - Edit
We enjoyed a delicious vegan lunch at Picnic, whilst staying in Glasgow for part of the Celtic Connections music festival; a treat we look forward to every year. The food was served by friendly, helpful staff in a clean, modern, cosy space. We will definitely be going to Picnic again and would highly recommend the cafe to anyone looking for a healthy, tasty, cruelty-free meal.

Disappointing - Edit
I was really excited to eat here after reading all the reviews so felt let down when our food arrived. My partner and I ordered the full breakfast for £12.50, and when it came, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed. The breakfast consisted of two sausages, beans, a few slices of mushrooms, cold picked beetroot, and avocado, wilted spinach, asparagus and a potato scone. It lacked in seasoning and was all quite dry. It seemed like everything was grilled without any oil, so was a bit too healthy. We’ve eaten far better for less or equivalent, so can’t understand the hype, unless they were having a bad day?

My Favourite Place in the City Centre - Edit
At last; a properly vegan restaurant (that is good) - such a rare, precious thing.
Read moreProfessional operation; the staff here are knowledgeable, competent, have people skills, and are pleasant (not many places can say that). The place is also presentable and inviting.
They do the best smoothies (best I have had in Scotland), and I always leave a tip thanks to the professional standards they have here.
To have my moan 🙃; I need to have my favourite smoothie without vanilla due to health reasons (felt poorly after having them with): Like most vanilla extracts; the one Picnic uses contains alcohol. The 35% ethanol content in vanilla extracts is supposed to be cooked off when making cakes etc, not added to smoothies (I'm showing off my food science know-how here, apologies)
The long and short: I highly recommend Picnic, it is important to support such a worthwhile vegan restaurant (I make a point of going here every time I am in Glasgow city centre). I look forward to seeing what may appear on the menu in time.
Pros: Best smoothies, Friendly/Competent staff, Pleasant atmosphere
Cons: Like most vegan restaurants-the menu is 90% gluten, Vanilla-extract (in smoothies) has alcohol., Legume heavy menu (e.g. lentils, etc).

Delicious - Edit
Lovely little cafe, great selection of vegan bites and cakes. I had the Pastramheat, which seemed very popular looking around, Irish tea and orange juice. Vegan, locally produced, pastrami, cashew cream, sauerkraut, tomato and spinach on toasted sourdough with a rocket, sundried tomato, pumpkin seed side salad with balsamic reduction. Very, very tasty. Choice of vegan milk for the tea. Got a snowball to go. Lovely.

yes fresh both in decor and food.
Read moregreat to see a bright new light in the glasgow vegan scene. when you walk into a bright cafe with smiling staff, first impressions is fresh food with the smell of fresh bread
Returned for a veggie breakfast and wasn't let down. Wow it's great to get a breakfast that isn't covered in oil or over fried. The addition of avocado and asparagus even made you feel you were getting some of those five a day that even vegans need.
Also had a wrap at vegfest which was packed with natural food and fantastic.
Just love the food her, simple yet fantastic.
Love it

Wish I had time to sit in the cafe - Edit
We were getting a train so we had to get everything to take away. We got a croissant with jam, croissant with chocolate, a snowball (like a lamington), a Mediterranean focaccia and a red pepper and hommus bagel. I also had a soy coffee which is one of the best coffees I’ve had.
Read moreThey asked if we wanted the croissants warmed up and I said yes. They were so good. Why can’t croissants be vegan by default!
We had the snowball a bit later and we both really liked it. The jam in the middle and the coconut icing on the side was delicious.
We had half each of the sandwiches. I preferred the focaccia while my partner preferred the bagel but both were good.
Staff were so nice. Really disappointed I didn’t have time to visit again!
