Unclear of whether actually vegan

It’s unclear as to whether it’s actually vegan or not, I can see why some like it and others don’t. Although I’m not an expert, I think posno (meaning religious fasting, not directly meaning vegan) covers most aspects such as all meat and should exclude all eggs and dairy, but doesn’t always exclude honey.

Cons: Unclear if actually vegan

Pretty sure not vegan?

Went here and was offered only things with cheese. I clarified what the cheese was made of, which was cows milk. Could have been a translation issue, but I don’t know. Once clarified she pointed us towards some sesame seed pretzels. Generally they are vegan in Germany so I felt good about that. They were amazing, but I think may have been made with butter. We may never know. Id be interested to know if those who had “ cheese” pastries felt sick later. Someone who speaks Macedonian needs to go there and clarify for everyone lol.

Really good!

They had a few vegan options, this ended up becoming my staple bakery as I walked past it most mornings on my way to the bus station for my daily trips. Staff speak really good English!

Pros: Good vegan options

Do not go here

I went in and asked what their vegan options were. I ordered one and ate it. I was suspicious about it.
I went back to get more, as I was still hungry. I was served by the same person. I asked them again to show me what's vegan. They recommended something with cheese (the first thing also had cheese).
I asked "what is the cheese made of?"
They said "i dont know, we just buy it"
Me: "But its not real cheese right?"
Them: "I dont know"
Me: "but i already had one"
Them: "i know"

Yes i also said "posno" and they looked at me blankly. Maybe it was vegan, maybe it wasn't. I'll never know.

It was my mistake not to ask the first time around, but really incompetent not to know what's in the food you are selling.
Disappointing is an understatement.

So many options - say "posno"

Friendly staff, spoke English well. Showed us a full case of "posno" (vegan) options, which include some sweet and savory pastries. I got a croissant with plant based cheese and an olive roll with plant based cheese. Thanks to this place we had a lovely breakfast!

Make sure to ask for Posno

The previous review argued that this place does not have anything vegan. We came here and asked for something Posno (religious fasting) which if you make sure they have not used honey or fish (which is unlikely in a bakery) is vegan. They offer 4 or 5 vegan options with vegan cheese. The food is hearty and filling. I would advise to come here for a little snack.

Pros: Posno food, Cheap, Vegan cheese

Cons: No sweet snacks

Nothing vegan

Asked if they had something vegan (also explained what that means), got a straight 'no'

Bakery with so many vegan options

Bakery Lihnida is located in Ohrid city centre and has a variety of vegan options, I was particularly happy to see baked goods with vegan cheese (ask for posen kashkaval). They use it since it’s cheaper than animal one in Macedonia. We tried vegan cheese rolls with olives, a croissant with vegan cheese, cherry and apple strudel, a gevrek, a donut and a mekica. Everything was delicious.
