Great Food And Vegan Options for Small Town - Edit
Brick oven pizza with vegan cheese was very good. Don’t expect New York City quality, but it’s definitely the best this small town can offer. They can also make vegan calzones, but they were mostly bread/air, so I’d get the pizza. They also have a vegan gelato/cake dessert, which was great. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and quick service.

Edit 2024: portions got smaller, after days of hiking it's clearly not enough. Also felt like we were rushed to order dessert and get out so our table would become available. Food is still good tho.
Read moreFreshly made woodfire pizzas. They have 4 vegan options w vegan cheese, also a vegan dessert and ice cream. It's a family business, service was very nice! They are very busy in main season, be prepared to wait.

Sooo good! - Edit
I went for a vegan margarita with mushrooms on it and pizza bread. These are authentic, wood fired oven pizzas and by far the best pizza I’ve had in NZ! For sure a must try, if you’re in town. Also they had vegan ice cream with cashew salted caramel sauce which was such a nice treat. I will come back

So good - Edit
Last night, had a flavorful vegan pizza and split a Mediterranean salad with hubby who ordered a Margherita pizza. We def could have shared a salad and pizza but were encouraged by server to get individual pies. We ended up with a lot of leftovers, which made for a nice dinner tonight

Dedicated vegan options - Edit
They have four dedicated vegan pizza options, two with a pea puree base and two with a tomato base. We had the two tomato base pizzas and both were yum! A pleasant discovery in Te Anau. Would recommend both. They were generous with their toppings too. No photos cause the pizzas didn't last long!

Tasty pizza! - Edit
Tasty pizza! We had takeaway with the bbq jackfruit and also the vege pizza. Both we were happy with. Each pizza was 12”. We went to the supermarket next door and got salad to have with the takeaway pizza. It fed three of us with the salad too.

Nice food but limited options - Edit
A busy restaurant and all handmade pizzas. They used a different slicer to cut our pizza. The vegan cheese was nice and we were able to sit for as long as we wanted. The sorbetto options, lemon or raspberry, were creamy and impressive. The waiting staff were keen to welcome us and check their vegan milk availability for us. We've been twice in a week!

Fantastic vegan pizza - Edit
Not sure why people gave this so few stars. You can easily make your own vegan pizza here and there are plenty of vegan starters. Fantastic wood fired pizza and fast service. Will have to come back when I'm in town next year

Average food, clueless staff - Edit
We're a pretty easily pleased couple, fresh to veganism, but these guys just took the p***. Firstly - really rude staff who just seemed like they couldn't be bothered with anyone. When I asked about vegan options, they said 'I don't think you can have the ciabatta because we glaze it with oil' and also 'you can have any of these that don't have meat'. (Wildly gesturing at a million options with cheese). I watched every staff member touch the pizzas to cut them then wipe their hands on the ass of their pants/ apron. Also I bought an expensive pizza that had two types of cheese topping but switching them both out for vegan cheese still cost an extra $2. Food wasn't anything to write home about. Horrible atmosphere. Staff in no way warm or welcoming. We ran as soon as we could.

This is the place to go in Te Anau! Authentic Italian, brickoven, thin-crust pizza, with fresh homemade tomato sauce, vegan cheese, and basil. Perfect. The garlic flat bread was also very delicious.
