Healthy, interesting veg-focused vegan options - Edit
Lovely lunch option on the northern end of Argostoli. Impressed with the combination of cold and cooked veg-focused vegan options (clearly labelled) which you can view at a buffet before ordering.
Read moreAs a couple, we shared a tabule salad and each had a gemista (stuffed peppers with tomatoes, rice, and herbs) and felt pretty full afterwards. The gemista was so tender and flavourful yet still held together.

Our go to place in Argostoli - Edit
Been eating at Palia Plake for many years, but I kinda of wanted to keep it a secret so it didn't get spoiled by tourists, thankfully that hasn't seemed to of happened.
Read moreIt's one of the very few places in Greece where you see Greeks queue up to get inside, if they can't they will go to the counter and get a takeaway, if you are getting takeaway go to the counter and they will serve you right there and take payment.
The outstanding dish for me is Tsigaria, which I've never seen on anyone else's menu it's a must try ! Everything else we have had is also really good.
They understand what vegan is, so when they offer you a free dessert make sure you mention you are vegan and some fruit would be lovely, we normally get melon or strawberry depending on the time of the year.
If you're going to have a drink with your meal I would recommend the house wine, it works out a lot cheaper than the beers.
Pros: Cheap, fast service, nice location.
Cons: Can sell out very quickly., No salt or pepper or oil on the table.

Wrong place on map, great food - Edit
Palia Plaka has a daily changing menu with lots of vegan options and some regular vegan meals. We had a variety of vegan dishes (bean stew, giant beans, pea and potato stew, stuffed peppers, potato salad) and you get some bread to dip in the sauces too. The servers were very nice and helpful pointing out the vegan options and spoke English.

Cons: A bit far outside of the city center

Delicious vegan option - Edit
Staff were helping in pointing out the vegan options on the menu. I had the stuffed green pepper and tomato, they were filled with rice and herbs and served with potatoes and tomato sauce that was really delicious. With bread and a beer it came to 12euros. There’s counter service for takeaway which looked good too. The other vegan option was a dish with greens and you could also order a salad.
Read morePros: The restaurant is on a lovely balcony by the sea., Disabled access and accessible toilet. , Delicious, good value food
Cons: Vegan options not labelled but staff were aware
