Delicious & inexpensive - Edit
Had a vegan agedashi tofu and tantan ramen - both reasonably priced ($18-$22) and tasty. Tantan ramen was creamy and rich with lots of tofu, which I find rare in vegan ramen options. Menu had plenty of clearly marked vegan/vege options including karaage tofu, another ramen option, miso eggplant, and more. Friendly staff and quick service. Highly recommend!

Small character filled venue. Enjoyed the pickles, tantan ramen, and the yuzu chilli ramen. It was nice, but the yuzu ramen was a little bland, perhaps they left out the chilli oil.

Amazing - Edit
It’s expensive but it’s worth it
Read moreI love this bar - it’s such a hidden gem and they have quite a few vegan options
I loved dining here because the atmosphere is so special and you feel like actually being in Japan. I had a highball as a drink and also their special zucchini blossom deep fried with lime salt. It’s to share but I had it as a main for myself and it was perfectly flavoured and crunchy
Would definitely come back
Pros: Vegan options, Atmosphere , Location
Cons: Price , Staff does not speak English too well

Hidden gem - Edit
Walked in on a cold weeknight and knew we’d made the right choice when we saw that they were busy. Luckily there was a table for us. Ordered the fried tofu to share which was amazing. I got the eggplant miso curry (no cheese). A combo of two of my favourite Japanese dishes - curry and nasu dengaku. Will definitely go back next time I’m in Sydney

Beautifully made food - Edit
Aside from the always-lovely staff and tasteful chilled atmosphere, you can also come here to enjoy the excellent vegan food. A lot of choices for sides, snacks and mains, you’re not locked into one token vegan offering.
Read moreBeautifully made food, and rare to be be able have a choice of vegan ramens. The servings are a good size, not meagre, and are good value.
They also serve alcohol.

Japanese plant based meal at O'uchi - Edit
I was very impressed with the authenticity of the Japanese food here at O'uchi, they used so many expensive ingredients and also don't use any MSG, I tried lots of different dishes here including their special seasame tofu, to see what i thought check out my full review at https://cookingwithyoshiko.com/japanese-plant-based-dinner-at-ouchi-in-sydney/.

Good menu, poor taste - Edit
Good service, lovely ambience. The vegan options were extensive but the sushi and ramen were both disappointing due to lack of flavour and oily taste in ramen.

Good food; lovely people. - Edit
We went to O'Uchi and tried some veg options, and when paying, we asked about a vegan tantanmen ramen we once had in Japan. They made it the next day and it was GOOD! Check their Instagram for the daily special meal, which often has vegan options.

Too expensive. - Edit
Food quality great, quite tasty, nice atmosphere but..we paid for three meals for $42, and all three meals together could be the size of one entree. Surprised no one mentioned this in their review.

great food, surprised it isn't more known - Edit
I went here when there were very little reviews on the place.. and was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious although the serving sizes were quite small. I got the chickpea bites, noodle salad with agedashi tofu, and miso eggplant (without parmesan), along with the green tea and yuzu sake. Would definitely recommend the eggplant it was the most amazing dish!!

A Japanese restaurant with vegan options! - Edit
Gorgeous Japanese restaurant with great decor. Many veg and vegan options. Most are organic. Friendly service and complimentary fresh fruit infused water. Open for lunch and dinner.
Read moreI had the 'Eggplant Parmesan curry' without the Parmesan to made it vegan. was more on the eggplant miso side than curry. but still yummy overall.
The Veggie Chowder Ramen was nice and warming a soy broth blended with vegetables. Would have preferred more chuncks of veggies.
Dinner menu has a range of petite veg and vegan options.
We tried the quinoa, sesame crusted sweet potato w/ orange teriyaki sauce which was nice, more sauce would have made this dish better. It was a very sma portion though.
Another small portion was the kale, chia and tapioca Superfood pancake w/ yuzu ponzu soy gelee. It was more of a crispy piklet and a little disappointing.
And lastly we had the Soba Salad with Agedashi tofu. This was the stand out dish of the meal. Tofu was delish, delicate and melt in mouth.
It was about $45 for the meal and we were still hungry, and went to Mother Chu's you eat. Plan to order more or the bigger dishes if you want a good feed.
Pros: decent number of veg and vegan options on lunch me
Cons: dinner menu has small portions and is slightly exp
