So so so good

Three vegan ramen options and one appetizer that can be veganized.
We got the pork bao buns (vegan version is tofu) and they were so good. Even my mom liked them and she is pretty picky with tofu. I ordered the tantanmen ramen and my mom got the spicy miso. Both were very spicy and super flavorful.
If you don’t like sesame, don’t get the tantanmen lol.
Spicy miso might have been too spicy for my mom.
I really liked that they subtracted $2 from the bao buns because they came with tofu instead. A lot of restaurants wouldn’t do that.

The better ramen option

Bowl 91 has eliminated many of their vegan offerings since COVID.

But in comes ototo, with its small menu, but fantastic food.

There's three vegan ramens to choose from, including the one I got, Tantanmen. The broth was bursting with flavor, as was the roasted tomato they use in lieu of an egg. And the tofu was perfectly fried.

The bao buns were also tasty. They have that springy texture you expect from a steamed bread, and though the thick slab of tofu was a bit unruly in the bun, the sauce was delicious.

I'll definitely be back to try the other offerings.
