Great! - Edit
I ordered takeout for my family of four. We got the Graves at Sea, Good Times Roll, Aqua Poutine Hunger Force, Botanical Salad, and Kale Salad.
Read moreThe food was pretty good. My favorite was the kale salad.
When we picked up the food, we noticed that the Kale Salad we were given was a small instead of the large we ordered. The staff was really nice and remade it as a large and even let us have the small one for free. This was such a nice thing for them to do!

Please reopen! - Edit
The most creative and delicious vegan restaurant in the Burgh. Bunn O))) is bomb. Love their Coffins. Other delicious options. Their vegan cheeses are incredible. Hoping they reopen soon! Being WFPB this is a bit outside the white lines, but it’s well worth it for an occasional treat!

Not our favorite, but good! - Edit
We like it here and the desserts (especially the tiramisu) help it earn the 5 stars. I also like how they package their food in paper boxes.

Amazing Food! - Edit
The black dahlia horchata and general ngos tater tots were 10/10, definitely recommend and would go back to when I find myself in Pittsburgh. Also, there are some really cool stores on the same street:)

Best vegan in Pittsburgh - Edit
We’ve got some great vegan options in Pittsburgh, but Onion Maiden is at the top of my list. The flavors between dishes are so varied that you’re guaranteed to find something you like, and your non-vegan friends and family will too. Their ramen takeovers are to die for. You should be required to purchase tots with every meal, the tots are 🤌🤌

So dang good! - Edit
This place is so cool and everything was delicious. There are some really awesome flavor combos and stuff you just won't find anywhere else. The space is small but they were able to accommodate large groups. Even their merch is cool!

Different, fun, delicious - Edit
The food is phenomenal! So different and delicious. Every single thing I had was memorable. Also, the heavy metal theme is so fun! Felt like I stepped back in time to the 80s, but cooler. Do the tater tot nachos!

Funky brunch - Edit
We love Onion Maiden! The vibe in this restaurant is so cool and original. Love the aesthetics. Visiting from out of state and we stopped in for brunch, which was impressive. The selection on the brunch menu is limited but there’s something to please most cravings. I’m a sucker for breakfast sandwiches, so I ordered the McMaiden and was not disappointed. So good! My boyfriend ordered the Face Down in Grits and like totally fell in love. Dad really enjoyed the açaí bowl. If ever in Pittsburgh again stopping here will be a highlight.

Excellent food, heavy metal vibes 🤘 - Edit
The food is amazing!!! So good. I didn’t expect to find such good vegan food in Pittsburgh, but this place is one of my all time favorite food spots. It’s a bit annoying they only take reservations for 6 people and up, but they are a small place, so I get it, and the food quality makes up for it!!

Unique place with asian fusion & American food - Edit
100% vegan & listed as a sustainable restaurant in Pittsburgh. I love the name and the decor of the place as well as the rock/metal music playing. The enoki mushroom buns, pho , and terrormisu were all very tasty! Terrormisu is more like a chocolate cake though

Heavy Metal Vegan Food - Edit
We tried a few dishes. The headbanger's balls were the only really great dish, flavorful and crunchy and served with kale and a delicious sauce. The others were good but not great (Nachos were the biggest disappointment. Not nearly enough cheese and toppings for the amount of chips given). Tiramisu cake was very good. Overall I like the vibe of the place and the menu. They get extra points for the superb heavy metal puns. Cash only.

Like a dream - Edit
You’ve probably been to lots of vegan restaurants. Ones in your home town, or in places you have traveled to. So you know what I mean when I say there are basically two types. One is the super delicious healthy food type, where you walk out poorer, and hungry, and you feel like you loved it but you have to go to another restaurant to fill up. The second type says to the world ‘vegans can have filling food too!’ And proceeds to serve up mounds of comfort food, not particularly healthy, but delicious and filling.
Read moreGather round the fire, Vegans. For I have a tale of a restaurant that does both. In the city of Pittsburgh nestled in a hillside neighborhood is the home of the Onion Maiden.

Kick A?$ Vegan Restaurant - Edit
We unfortunately had to get our food to go due to our exhausted toddler (due to it being the end of our vacation). But the atmosphere was cool and eclectic and the staff was very welcoming. We ordered the cheese plate, bun o, tots with lentil chili & cheese sauce, chili cheese dog, side of sauteed kale, a couple macaroons, and a piece of pomegranate tangerine cheesecake with blueberry sauce. We loved everything and our favorites were the loaded tots, kale, and chili dog. And our picky toddler loved the apple slices & bread from the cheese plate (cheese was a little too spicy for him!), and he also loved the loaded tots (and loved to dip them in the chili cheese!). We were in Pittsburgh for vacation and heard great things about Onion Maiden and they did not disappoint! We would definitely return next time we're in town. We love finding awesome vegan restaurants and this one has made it on our list!

Everything here is wonderful and made with love. The staff is INCREDIBLE and THEY GET IT! BRAVO OM, see you all soon!
