Tasty udon and tempura - Edit
This was a positive surprise for us, the food was absolutely delicious! We had a nice luch here after discovering that nearby vegan place was sold out for the day. We had to wait in line for a bit but it wasn’t too long (10min).

Very delicious Udon Noddles and tempura vegetables - Edit
Nice staff and good options. It was tasty and they were good at explaining the choices for a vegan. They use a mushroom broth for vegans.

Best meal so far in Kyoto - Edit
Simple, yet delicious. I had yummy fat udon noodles in vegan broth with more veg than appears usual in Japan! Presented like a little work of art. Best meal I've had so far (although I have got a few days left here...!)

Very nice Udon, Tempura has egg - Edit
Maybe some things have changed since the previous reviews. The English menu did not have a vegan option clearly marked, however the staff understood and showed us which Udon to order. The tempura has egg however, so vegans can only have the noodles and soup. You can choose to sit on the tatami mats or at a table.

Excellent! Go here! - Edit
Would give 5 stars if I could. Probably the best meal I’ve had in Japan so far. The English menu didn’t say anything about vegetarian/vegan specifically, but the staff knew exactly what I was talking about when I brought it up. I ordered the vegetarian udon/tempura combo. For anyone saying there aren’t many veg options - there are only a few options that AREN’T veg! It’s an udon place so that’s all they have.

Delicious Udon in Traditional Setting - Edit
I ordered the Vegan Udon Set with Tempura Vegetables. The meal was filling and came with a lot of veggies. We chose to sit in the traditional tatami mat area of the restaurant which gave the experience a more authentic feel. However, they do ask to not take pictures with other customers in them.

Chef très sympathique, une option vegan avec remplacement du bouillon au poisson par du bouillon aux champignons. Très bien présenté et prix modeste. Agréable cadre

Delicious Udon! - Edit
Omen was an amazing choice to eat at during our visit to Kyoto. It is right off of the Philosopher’s Path so it made for an excellent lunch detour. When you get there you need to specifically ask for the vegetarian broth. It was incredibly delicious udon and broth with so many toppings to add in. Check out Omen!

Amazing authentic noodles - Edit
They may not have many vegan options but the main dish this restaurant is known for is completely vegan. The udon were perfectly cooked and scented with Yuzu peel, the topping were great and the dipping sauce was piping hot. I personally also loved adding Japanese chilis to my noodles. Highly recommend.
