Seven vegan main courses, two at lunchtime. Nice garden.

Some restaurants have a decent choice of vegan menus at dinnertime but can't guarantee anything on the changing lunch menu. Not so here: Okra declares they always have two vegan main dishes at lunchtime. And at dinnertime you even get seven plus many starters. Only the dessert options with just sorbet is not great.

Good food - no vegan bread

Their vegan options are clearly labelled, except for the papadam.

Their food is very tasty and portion-size is smaller than in most other Indian restaurants, so if you arrive hungry you'll have room for a starter and dessert.

Unfortunately they neither have a vegan bread like chapati or roti (only non-vegan naan) nor a vegan raita, which is a big shame, as I prefer indian curries accompanied by bread and raita.

Vegan desert options are very limited, there are just two vegan ice creams to choose from.

Pros: tasty vegan starters and mains, friendly staff

Cons: no vegan bread, no vegan raita, no imaginative vegan desserts
