Disappointing - Edit
Food was cold, lacked spices. I am really getting frustrated with the vegan folks giving 5 stars to bad kitchen. How are non vegans supposed to transition when the food is blend? Seriously now folks!!! Please don’t give every vegan restaurant you find 5 stars because for the sake of it.

Nothing special - Edit
I ordered a starter and a main dish. The croquettes looked more like bitterballen. Unfortunately, the stew wasn’t served warm and missed seasoning.

Topper in Gent! - Edit
Read moreHun vegan Oh!MA'tje is geweldig!
Lekkere alcoholvrije cocktails, zeer vriendelijke bediening.
Zeer veelbelovend!
April 2024, Oh!Ma is definitief geopend.

Lekker! - Edit
Wij hadden de stoofvlees en de vol-au-vent. De stoofpotjes waren beide zeer lekker! De frietjes mochten iets krokanter, vond ik. Verder was de service heel vriendelijk gezellige locatie.

Good Belgian fries - Edit
I ordered the Oh!MA'tje fries. I’ve never had this dish before, so I didn’t know what to expect. I found it had too much sauce for me and was a bit salty, but maybe that’s how this dish is in general. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, the service was fast, and the portion was large.

Nice food, modern vibe, some starter hiccups? - Edit
Had been to the popup of Ohma in Bruges a couple of times before (some years ago), and love that they focus on veganising traditional dishes.
Read moreThe place is nicely renovated, and the decor has a modern, chill vibe.
Access to menu is through QR code (I much prefer paper menus), and pay immediately when ordering.
We had
- cheezecroquettes (5) 8,90€
- vol-au-vegan 23,5€
- hotdog 14,90€ and fries 4€ and mayo 2€
Lemonade 5,5€ and tonic 4,8€
Food came swiftly (one can opt to have appetizers, and mains served together, or apart). Very decent portions.
Food was nice, but not warm enough (especially the vol au vent and cheese croquettes). (Noticed the lady at the table next to us also saying her vol au vent wasnt warm enough).
And the lettuce was not fresh (not crispy, flat), that really shouldn't have been served.
Service was overall very friendly. But what is strange is that one is asked to pay when ordering and add a tip then. Bit weird to tip before one has even gotten any food.
Not accessible, steps to get in. Large outdoor seating on pavement.
Toilets upstairs. Clean. But seems sinks/taps hadn't been cleaned in a while (dust and dirt), a pity, because they seemed brand new.
What was a bit annoying was that during lunch, they went back and forth with supplies (through main door to kitchen). Which made it not so relaxed.
Overall: nice lunch, but hope they take this feedback on these points into consideration, and make it even more enjoyable to have lunch here 😉

Absolutely loved this - Edit
I loved the atmosphere here. Beautiful wall paintings. Staff was very friendly and informed us that it could take a little time to prepare our food because they were understaffed. Many great options I got the burger and it was so good with the crispy bacon. For dessert we had the cookie with ice cream also very good and not to much after our meal. We will certainly come back.

Tried many dishes at Oh!ma and every single one of them is just delicious. Every time we visit Gent, our first stop is Oh!ma. If you’re trying to find a place to have an extraordinary cocktail, a small bite or a full on heavenly vegan menu, there is only one right place to go and it’s this one!

Superlekkere belgische gerechten in vegan versie - Edit

Amazing taste but too expensive for the portion sizes - Edit
Beautiful place, very well decored. Great variation of comfort food dishes. We went with friends so we can only discuss what we had (my and boyfriend and me). The only thing we found was that the portion sizes were too small for the price you pay. My boyfriend got the stew (large size) with cheezy fries and this price was 25,5€. Then he got a (on the small-sized) waffle with one scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce and this cost: 8.50€. The flavours were amazing but they could definitely work on this. I got two hot dogs and per hot dog you pay 14,90€. Again flavours were amazing, but I think around 12€ would have been better for this or perhaps they could triple the salad in size. The only thing that lacked a lot flavour in my opinion was the home-made lemonade for 5,50€. We totally get it that times are tough for everyone but we also have to drive x-amount of time to get there, also pay for parking, making this trip expensive for what’s essentially a more luxury form of fast food. However much love and respect to the owners because they have grown their business so much over the years.

Not worth it - Edit
We reserved a spot for the opening of its restaurant in Ghent.
Read moreThe appetisers came in a timely manner and were good, however we wonder if the sausage wasn't simply the Garden Gourmet sausages.
We then waited for almost an hour for our food, another table of 6 people close to us never got their food and left. We asked to double check our food and then finally it arrived.
We both ordered vol au vent with apple sauce, ketchup and I ordered sweet potato fries.
What we got were two vol au vents with salad, no sauces and regular fries, without any mention of the things that were missing.
When asked, they apparently were "out of" sweet potato fries and apple sauce.
We had to ask again for ketchup but it never arrived.
The fact that we had to ask explicitly for these things were a bad experience in itself.
On top of that the quality of the vol au vent was very poor, I suspect it's made with chicken pieces from de Vegetarische Slager. The sauce was crumbly/sandy and honestly Ikea's version is better than this!
Pros: Cheese Croquettes were good., Personel was friendly.
Cons: Food took way too long., We were not informed of things that were out, Food quality was below the bar

Lovely food & staff - Edit
I tried their all-vegan Gentse Feesten pop-up 3 times in the past week and we're already going back tomorrow. Big fan of the vegan version of the 'Julientje': a local specialty with Belgian fries, satay seasoning, Flemish stew, mayonaise, sliced 'viandel' crispy sausage and crispy onions. The stew was rather sweet, but as a whole I think it came together really nicely. I also liked their bitterballen: make sure to ask for mustard, cause who eats bitterballen with mayonaise? 🤔 The cocktails were also nice (especially the piña colada), and for the desserts by Junglicious I always love the baked cheesecake. All of the staff was really friendly too, so I'm excited about this pop-up turning into a real restaurant by november. It might already be a new favourite in Ghent. 👌
