Bland

Came one night and saw they had plenty veggie/vegan options so was very excited to try. I went for jerk chickpea patty with pineapple and lime mayo. So bland no seasoning or jerk in sight might aswell have ate a bowl of mushed chickpeas. Pineapple have it some slight flavour but very poor chips were decent. Better places in Sunderland for vegan options

Pros: Chips

Cons: Expensive , Food been bland and falling apart

Hit and miss

I’ve been in a few times and find the seitan to be hit and miss. A couple times the seitan was way too chewy and undercooked, and a couple times they had no vegan options left by 5pm. I preferred the bbq lentils but they took these off the menu.

Good vegan options.

The pizza burger and the vegan nuggets should be made permanent on the menu. The plates which the food is served on are tiny you can barely move your food around so some of my food ended up on the table.

Pros: Plenty of vegan burgers

Cons: Not enough vegan starters, Expensive

various options!

This is nice little bar, Stone/stripped walls, nice and clean. Staff helpful and friendly. This as per description is burger focussed food so in that sense meat oriented BUT with a range of vegetarian and vegan options which are properly thought out. 6 vegetarian burgers of which 5 can be vegan and 2 are vegan from the off. Nice range of craft bottle beers etc.

Chips were really nice and even sauces and optional additions all marked including a vegan version of their own sauce and pulled jackfruit

Will definitely return 👍🏻

Pros: good range of food clearly marked , friendly staff, range of beers

Hail Seitan!

A nice new addition to Sunderland scene. Although not 100% vegan or vegetarian, there is a dedicated menu section where 5 out of 6 menu choices are suitable for vegans. We ordered the Sloppy Joe, which was a lentil based BBQ burger (£6.50), the seitan patty with BBQ pulled jackfruit (£7.95) and a side of chips with a few refreshing Belgian beers to accompany the meal. Both dishes were excellent and flavoursome especially the seitan patty and the delicious BBQ pulled jackfruit. This is definitely a place worth checking out if you are in the area and there is a nice vibe with very friendly staff.

Pros: Excellent vegan food and beers, Nice vibe, Friendly staff

Cons: Serves meat, Reservations advised
