For vegans great

They asked us if we were vegan or vegetarian and then explained to us how they would substitute things like ghee etc. - super nice service, we had Nepalese dishes as the owner is Nepalese and the taste was great. Would have eaten there more often if possible!

Pros: Vegan friendly, Authentic cuisine , Location

One of the best in Yangon

The restaurant is not flash nor assuming but feels like a local restaurant, but in downtown Yangon.

It's an easy walk from the Sule Pagoda.

The food is amazing. Really enjoyed being there.

Pros: great vegetarian dishes, all vegetarian so no time wasting finding a dish, close to Sule Pagoda

Cons: Not the most exciting surroundings

Great food great service

Delicious food! All vegetarian and they can make 90% of it vegan. Staff spoke excellent English and were able to explain all dishes including vegan/non-vegan. We had a special vegan thali (5000kyat/£2.50) and samosa chat (2500kyat/£1.25), both of which were delicious and very reasonably priced. They veganised mango shake by using soya milk instead of dairy milk, and in the curries used tofu instead of paneer.

Pros: Tasty, Cheap

Delicious!

Very good food for a reasonable price. The person in charge knew exactly what vegan was and could veganize many dishes.

I ordered the thali (huge portions!) and enjoyed every bite.

The interior is nothing special but I can highly recommend the food.

Best Indian restaurant in Yangon

We were welcomed by a friendly woman who immediately asked us if we were vegan. We had a dish with vegan cottage cheese made of tofu which was so so delicious. And the vegan thali which was really tasty too. Totally recommended!

Pros: Many vegan options, Friendly and knowledgeable staff

Makes vegan life easy!

The owner speaks English and is super helpful! First question was ‘are you vegan of vegetarian?’ And then proceeded to tell me what dishes where vegan or which could be altered! made life so much easier! The food was really nice to! Absolutely recommend

Typical Indian food with a vegan-understanding staff

This restaurant serves typical Indian food, perfectly spicy. The staff (a lady in particular) is knowledgeable about veganism and transformed the special thali set into a vegan one, including a dessert with soy milk. The food was very good, well balanced in spices and generous in size. I also took the samossas that were like the ones I ate in India (missed them a lot!). The restaurant is small but welcoming, the staff is friendly. Even if it is a bit pricey, I recommend a stop!

Pros: understand veganism, very good food, friendly staff

Cons: not 100% vegan, vegan options not labeled, a bit pricey

amazing!

We got the thali set and the lady knew exactly what was vegan or not. The food was delicious (really spicy so we spent a lot of money in water bottles) and I loved the tea.
The price of the thali was 4000 (maybe they changed the prices some time ago?) and there’s no refill.
We went to the second floor and they opened it for us and turned on the fan, the staff was REALLY lovely.
There was a guy asking for money which made us a bit uncomfortable, but we are new to Myanmar so maybe that’s why?
We will come again in a couple of weeks.

too much spices

It was good to see that they understand what vegan means, but they are not that cheap anymore, and the amount if food they serves is really few(and no refills). But the worst thing, is that the food was misbalanced in spices. It was too much of them.

Pros: understanding of veganism

Cons: too much spices, small portions, no refill

Some of the Best Indian Food

Remarkable how such incredible food comes from such humble surroundings. Most dishes can be veganized, even substituting tofu for cheese.

Owner is very friendly & helpful.

Try potato paratha bread & Special Thali Set. Set is a lot of food for 5,000 kyat (about $3.67)

Ate dinner here, then came back next afternoon for lunch.

Pros: Vegan friendly, Inexpensive, Cool location in Little India

great place!

Even if it seems full, check out upstairs, more seating available.
The host was super nice, and spoke English very well. She let us know how to easily make anything vegan and had the option to make things not spicy.
Many options, and they will replace cottage cheese with tofu to make it vegan :)

Delish Hospitality

This place inspired my to write a review. Bottom line: go! We arrived close to closing time to find the restaurant's gate closed. The lady (not sure if she's the owner) was so kind to open the restaurant for me and my friend after I asked her for a recommendation for another place close by with vegan options. She said there wasn't any place open and that it would be hard to find vegan food. She only had one option to offer me because the cook had already left, but I did not care. I was starving and would eat anything vegan at that point. She was so kind!!! We had waters, a chapathi plate, masala chai tea (heavenly!) and complimentary donuts she was making for the Diwali festival tomorrow. She went above and beyond to help out a fellow veggie and I was so grateful. The food was very tasty and the cheapest food I've ever had anywhere in the world.

Yummi

a great find in downtown

The food here was great, and the staff lovely. A little more expensive than surrounding restaurants but well worth it for the peace of mind of a fully veg restaurant.

fantastic

Lovely owner, tasty food & cheap!

This is a rarer gem in Yangon. Found it quite hard to find vegan food when travelling Burma but this was excellent.

The owner was very lovely! We wish her luck in bringing veggie food to Yangon.

Tasty but can be expensive

I got inside and was shown a table to sit. Someone stayed with me and kept asking what I wanted to eat, suggesting the most expensive item on the menu, the Indian thali (5000 kyats). I accepted although there are other items on the other menu for 1200-1500 kyats. I was hoping for a feast for that price but I was disappointed: 2 chapati, rice, daal, alloo Gobi, paneer in tomato sauce (don't know the name) and vegetable curry. I wish I had ordered something else!
It was tasty but I would not order that again.
I went back the next day as this place is well rated and ordered the Thali set (2300 kyats) and I wasn't disappointed! Chapati, rice and 6 little plates/bowls with curries. It was perfect. And the lovely staff offered a refill when some plates were empty :)

The food is really nice but def on the greasy and spicy side (even though I requested mild spiciness haha). I love their bindi masala and aloo gobi a lot!

Tasty :)

As other reviews have written, it's very tasty and friendly staff, It's also very easy for vegans as most dishes already are, and the owner knows what vegan means and can advise on what to get. Try their soy milk masala tea (chai) ! Definitely recommended
