Disgraceful service or lack there of - Edit
I arrived for the lunch set menu, it seemed overpriced, but I was in the mood for something that wasn't Chinese. The restaurant was packed, nowhere to sit, 1 Australian man was eating, 4 Indian men playing on their phones, and one man in the kitchen cooking. There was another staff member outside who completely ignored me.
Read moreWhen I asked the staff inside if I could have something to eat, I was completely ignored by everyone except for the nice Aussie lad eating his super oily roti.
He said they weren't serving the lunch menu today, but you could order from the menu.
Despite further attempts to communicate with the staff, they continued to just stare at me blankly.
Shocking
Pros: Smells quite good
Cons: Roti looked super oily, pricey, no service

Dear Sebastien,
Read moreSorry to hear that it wasn't up to your expectations that day.
You must have visited Namaste on Oct 5th, when we had a party order, so we had to pause our regular 5 portions set lunch (priced RMB45), which was replaced with 2 x Portion of Aloo Chana (Potato Chickpeas Curry), 3 x Poori (Fluffy Breads Fried in Oil), 1 x Matar Pulao (Peas Pulao) and 1 x Gulab Jamun (Dessert), also we do not charge for any extra Subzi (Curry), Daal (Lentils) and Basmati Rice, so please feel free to ask, since everyone does not have the same diet.
At Namaste, our aim is always to give the value to your money by providing quality and quantity food, so please do not hesitate to come again and comment, it helps us to improve our standards.
Thanks and welcome!

Great Indian food!! - Edit
Went tonight and had amazing Biriyani, chapati, chole, and puri (sp?). If you go on a Sunday night they don’t have the thali option only the biriyani and chole with bread. The guy working didn’t speak a ton of English but when we asked for no dairy he didn’t give us raita and made sure we didn’t want butter on our chapati. The biriyani was so good we ordered another portion of it. The dinner biriyani was 30rmb and it’s a short walk from the green line metro. If you see the halal meat place go around the corner and you’ll find it.

Pure vegetarian fresh indian food. We was happy to enjoy this flavour. The price for thali (in one plate few different dishes) was really nice, just aroud 40¥. Masala chai was amazing with two balls gulab jamun.

Great Curry - Edit
Haven’t had curry in the sixth months I’ve lived in China - Namaste did not disappoint!
Read moreEasy to find, just take line 2 to 华强北站,exit via exit C, straight through the underground mall, up stairs turn right onto the street then it’s the small restaurant on the right.
Staff were very friendly, understood what vegan was, and talked me through the ingredients of each dish.
I had a potato and cauliflower, butter gourd, and kidney bean curries, along with four brilliant chappatis and some nice and fluffy rice. Good amount of heat!
Generous portions for the price, and fast service. Restaurant is clean and cosy.
Would definitely come again.
Only 4 stars as not yet totally vegan.
Pros: Knowledgeable friendly staff , Delicious , Good portion size

Namaste, Shenzhen - some pretty good food - Edit
December set tray price - 35 rmb lunch, 40 rmb dinner. Dinner comprises a tray with 3 small portions of different curries, 4 mini chapatis (that appear hand made on site) and a portion of rice. It seems a pretty fair deal to me.
Read moreFirst time I went the guy I spoke was a little unsure of what vegan means thus requiring some explaining. Next time I went the owner was there who seemed much more informed of that. Each time I've been since (5 visits in total over 5 weeks) when I walk in the people in the kitchen area recognise me and my co-diner and just ask for confirmation of "2 vegan?".
I suggested to the owner that for his next menu print, he has:-
* vegan items marked with V+ or Vv
* items that can be customised to be vegan on request are marked as V+ O or Vv O. He seemed to like the idea and said he will implement this. Let's see if he does what he says.
Something confusing is the opening hours. The opening times listed on the menu are different to the times displayed on the front window. When I asked about this, it turns out none of the opening times they have published are currently accurate.
It's a 'cheap and cheerful' sort of place. For people uncomfortable with microwave heated food, some food here gets microwaved.

Pros: All vegan is always better, Reasonably priced food, Open long hours
Cons: Dairy used, Vegan items not marked on the menu, Confusing management info re opening times

Watch out for paneer - Edit
Asked who I assume was the owner or manager for nothing with dairy, yogurt, cheese, ghee. He didn't listen and didn't seem to care, and I ended up with a paneer dish.
Read moreDoesn't seem like anyone working here wants to be here. Well, neither do I.
Bollywood Cafe in Luohu is much better, and the Indian staff seem to care.
Cons: Asked for no dairy, got paneer instead.

I hope that you give us one more chance to serve you better, and also let me know whenever you feel like coming and I shall take care of it personally.

Indian veg cafe - Edit
This is a small Indian veg cafe near the Huaqiangbei electronics market.
Read moreThere is a very limited set menu though I think it changes each day. The food was nothing special - the bread was a little tough - but ok if you need your Indian food fix. I doubt there's many Indian restaurants in Shenzhen outside of Shekou.
The staff were mostly Chinese and spoke little English but the menu is in English. According to the menu the set dinner was from 6pm, but I got some at 5.30 no problems. The set meal cost me 35rmb but they didn't offer any water with the food. Portion size could be a bit bigger.
It's near exit C of Huaqiang North station, it's one of the outside buildings of a food court - look for number 42-27 on the wall.
