Vegetarian and vegan restaurant with very very simple food. I had the pasta fresca which was spaghetti with a huge amount of olive oil and plain tomatoes. My partner had ordered the stuffed mushrooms but they were out so had a stuffed pepper with plain diced tomatoes with plain white rice and a side of... tomato. One fan in the whole place so was very hot especially as was set directly on their kids who were made to take our order and then watch TV with the other ladies!

We had vegan pancakes there for breakfast. Unfortunately the didn't have bananas (which it said on the menu), but the waitress offered us papaya as an alternative, which was nice. They were very good:)

Vegan pancakes for breakfast!! - Edit
Tried looking for a place opened early in the morning and one which served vegan breakfast. Had no luck in Cafe Yax-Ha and as I came out stumbled upon this place. So happy to learn that they had soy milk for my coffee and could make me vegan pancakes with an agave type of syrup. Big portion of three pancakes and a cup of coffee for 40 quetzals. Didn’t check out rest of their menu however they clearly understood what vegan meant and their outside sign had vegan on it so would definitely come in again for lunch or supper. Relaxed, chilled atmosphere with comfy chairs. Great experience!

Muchos platillos se pueden hacerlos veganos, nada más hay que explicarle para no ponerle miel, queso etc. La dueña es muy amable, pero no es ni vegetariana, lo vio como un negocio donde no hay mucha competencia, o sea, intentemos convencerla cuando se va, jeje. El ambiente es súper simple, a veces la televisión está encendida a volumen altísimo, pero vale la pena para comer vegano y barato. La porción de legumbres y el platillo de hongos son suficientes para llenar a uno.

Read moreI had the curry which was a simple dish of potatoes, carrots, onion and a curry sauce with rice but for the 30Q I was happy to pay it.
The owner is a lovely lady and I will definitely go back to try other dishes here and some of their drinks which are cheap and sound really nice.
There are also some local style-veganfoods that are displayed as a ‘special of the day’ for around 10Q so if you really don’t want to break the bank this is the spot to go. !

We were heading for the bus terminal in preparation for a series of lengthy bus rides (to Guat City->Antigua->Lake Atitlan) so needed serious sustenance to get us through the next 16 hours. Legumbres delivered with delicious options at a reasonable price. Cute and comfortable dining space too. If I'd had more time in Flores, I would have become a repeat customer.

I went there for dinner and had a mango smoothie (10 Q) and beans with rice (20 Q). The mango smoothie was made with fresh natural fruit. The beans and rice were very simple of course, but tasty and full of nutrition. The other dinner options consist of pizza, pasta and curry. As it says in the description, the decor is simple, but the place has a positive vibe and the waiter/chef was very friendly. Plus, if you are lucky, you get to meet the very cuddly and cute cat of the house! :)
