Serves meat, vegan options available. Mexican restaurant with a couple of vegan dishes. Staff understand what vegan means. Open Mon-Thu 5:00pm-10:00pm, Fri-Sat 5:00pm-11:00pm, Sat-Sun 11:00am-2:00pm, Sun 5:00pm-10:00pm.
This used to be my go-to date night spot. I would get chips & salsa, hongos tacos, nada fries (sweet chili potatoes) with no crema, and Brussels sprouts with no carrot purée (contains butter). They took the hongos off the menu and it hasn’t been the same since. They have cauliflower tacos now but you have to take off the cheese, which is a big part of the taco. Even the wait staff advised against getting it because it would be too plain. I emailed management to request the hongos back because mushrooms are superior to cauliflower imo, they thanked me and said their menu changes all the time. I guess I can still go just for the sides… they are delicious but it’s not the same without getting a main entree. Super disappointing but nada still holds a special place in my heart.
Very few vegan options, frankly surprising for Mexican cuisine. My salad greens were frozen when served. They comp’d me with a salad to take home, but it was uninspired and expensive.
Had the cauliflower tacos with no cheese. Had a side of black beans and rice with no cheese. The beans were well seasoned and added flavor to the tacos. Agree with other reviewers the prices were high for what you got. However post pandemic many restaurants are suffering and the downtown area especially. Glad to support a DT restaurant.
Our waiter was friendly and understood what vegan meant, so we appreciated him. He did admit there's not much on the meat and cheese heavy menu but that he'd definitely work with us. We got the guacamole without cheese. The chips and guac were tasty, but the portion was small. We got the cauliflower tacos which is probably one of perhaps two possible vegan entree options on the menu. They were made with fresh ingredients and pretty tasty, but again the portion was a bit small. These were also very expensive relative to the amount of food you got and of course no discount was taken for removing the cheese. The vibe of the place was cool if slightly busy and loud. Overall, it was an okay experience. I did appreciate the fresh ingredients. If you are searching for a good value and more options, probably go elsewhere. But if you're say going out with a group and they choose this place, you won't starve.
