Nice landing spot in busy shopping area

Mumokuteki has interesting dishes and nice ambiance. I enjoyed my meal there, but wasn't overly impressed with the food/value, therefore 4 stars feels appropriate. I didn't buy anything, but like pursuing the attached grocery store with had lots of speciality items.

I dream of Mumokuteki

We spent 2 weeks in Kyoto and ate here almost everyday. Such beautiful vegan food, at a reasonable price and in such a cool, comfortable setting. Longing to go back!

Pros: Japanese vegan food! , Great desserts

Decent dessert

Couldn’t find an abundance of dessert spots in Kyoto so had to try this out. Was alright if you feel like something sweet. A bit expensive for what it is. Ice cream was nice and creamy and enjoyed the tiramisu. Cheesecake was alright also, not too sweet which I enjoyed.

Pros: Many vegan options , English menus

Cons: Expensive

Nice place, bit pricey.

Beautiful space but flavours lacking in burger meal. Small portions & overpriced for the taste. The matcha icecream dessert was super intense with the matcha jellies and sauce. Not very balanced with the components of the dishes.

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Overpriced , Unbalanced flavours and textures

VEGAN and AMAZING

Everything on the menu is vegan, except for two drinks which have "honey" in the name. This includes all dishes, hot chocolate, lattes, desserts, shakes. The food is super delicious!

The place is also pretty big, with very fast service. Has a separate area with toys for kids. Plenty of vegan Kyoto locals seem to frequent this cafe, which is always awesome to see.

Don't skip this, it is so worth it!

Pros: Extensive menu with pretty much everything vegan, Vegan pastries (including NY cheesecake), Vegan shakes

Cons: None at all

Food yum, drinks and dessert AMAZING

Ate here for lunch. Pretty much the entire menu is vegan minus one or two options which contain honey (clearly marked). Primarily Asian style cuisines (rice, salad and soy) which are yum. Drinks were amazing (especially the chocolate soft serve OMG). And of course the deserts were amazing. Be sure to eat here to support vegan business 🌱✌🇯🇵

Kyoto

We’ve been here twice in two days now. Once for dessert the other for lunch. The bread that comes with the soups are amazing. As are the cakes & pancakes.

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Pricey but worth it

Great food

Yummy coconut curry, and side salad! My friend had the cheesecake and loved it but its hella expensive and tiny portion.

They also wouldn't let me get take away for my cake so that was a bummer. Also cant split cheque so bring cash

Pros: Big menu, Lots of desserts

Cons: Expensive , Cant take away food

I didn’t want to stop eating

This place absolutely deserves 5-stars, as almost everything is vegan.

We ate the lunch plate with burger patty, the coconut curry and the tiramisu. And they were all amazing. Might be some of the best vegan food I’ve had in a long time. I ate with only the tiniest mouthfuls to prolong the experience.

The restaurant itself is nice too

Pros: Delicious, Lots of vegan options , Tiramisu

Cons: Drinks are expensive

Must try in Kyoto!

Amazing cafe/lunch place. Lots of great options, the ramen in particular was incredible. The desserts are delicious, i had to go back the next day for more cheesecake.. And it’s not very expensive, I payed around 1600 per person including dessert. In the back they even have a small health store with a lot of vegan products I haven’t been able to find elsewhere in japan.

Cute little hipster cafe

We had lunch here and all the food options were vegan, bar a few drinks. I had Sichuan style noodles and my partner had the ramen, well priced and delicious. You can even choose the size of your meal which is great.i really loved the decor too.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Tasty, Well priced

Yummy & Creative

FOOD : I had a coconut curry, which was really delicious. Right amount of spiciness, well presentend. The portion was too small for my taste, but I tend to eat a lot.
Their soy milk parfaits are a must try ! The hojicha and matcha ones are incredible. I'd go back just for that ;-)

ATMOSPHERE : We had lunch there a bit before 1pm. It was crowded and quite noisy. You may have to wait a long time downstairs to have a seat, especially if you go during the weekend. Better to come before noon. It a popular place amongst Japanese and foreigners alike.

Delicious!!

I ordered the curry and a tiramisu. Both were delicious! Especially the tiramisu, WOW. Minus for being kind of expensive and that they have stopped selling a lot of the dishes on the menu.

Pros: Delicious, Beautiful restaurant, English speaking staff

Cons: A little expensive , They have stopped selling a lot of the dishes

We had to come back!!!!

The staff was very nice and attentive both times we went.

The first time went my boyfriend ordered the Momokuteki Lunch Plate which had a wide variety of tasty flavors and textures. His favorite was the mushrooms. I ordered the Sesame Miso Soup Ramen which was AMAZING!! The broth was creamy, rich, and flavorful all at the same time! I shared a few bites of my ramen and I knew my boyfriend had ramen envy. Soooo, we went back😄I knew he was going to order the Sesame Soy Miso Ramen and my intention was to order the other ramen dish but, when it came down to it, I had to order the Sesame Soy Miso Ramen again and it was just as amazing as the first time. For dessert I ordered the Matcha Soy Milk Shake and that was THE BEST matcha shake I've ever had!! We will probably go back a third time to try some items from the dinner menu.

Cons: Moderately expensive

Super satiated!

The ramen here was absolutely gorgeous: the spices were just perfect, and the noodles were so tasty. We also stayed for a couple of hours after eating our ramen, working on laptops and reading. We later ordered dessert (pancakes and parfait) and coffee and were so pleased with our choices, the ice cream was so creamy and the pancakes were fluffy and filling! My only qualm - as a coffee lover - was that the mug wasn't filled up enough! (but the coffee blend was single origin and very tasty)

Pros: Lots of lovely options to choose from, Extremely attentive staff, Crazy good dessert

Cons: Not enough of the delicious coffee!

Holy Wow

If you are a vegan in Kyoto you must go here. I had the most amazing parfait of my life. I wasn't having lunch but stared enviously at everybody else's. Definitely a boujee place to go so don't expect a cheap meal, and there are often long waits for tables but I was on my own so got in straight away. I want to go back to Kyoto just so I can eat here again!!

Pros: Delicious, Large vegan selection, Beautiful restaurant

Cons: Expensive, Often long waits for tables
