AUTHENTIC VEGAN JAPANESE!! - Edit
You have to add this to your list if you are in Kyoto, but make sure you swing by the day before of even just early to book ahead as it’s only a small place. The food is unreal and you finally feel like you are getting that authentic Japanese experience which is hard when vegan!

Delicious vegan set menu - Edit
Lovely little restaurant with amazing chef and waitstaff, super friendly and helpful with vegan options. We had the set menu and it was delicious, the meat eaters were happy as well. Huge portions. Would give 5 stars if possible

Amazing food - Edit
A very cosy small restaurant on the 2nd floor with a vegan menu. The cook is very nice and the okonomyaki was absolutely delicious. We went there twice on our stay in Hiroshima. 100% recommend!

Lots of fun - Edit
I’m sure cross contamination is an issue, and I have a suspicion they used fish sauce unfortunately. Tofu steak and noodle pancake was delish. The grill in front of you was lots of fun too!!! Forgot to take photos before I ate lol sorry.

Quite the experience! - Edit
It was my first time eating okonomiyaki, and it was quite the experience! This was my second time stopping by the restaurant (the first time, they were closed only for reservations), and I lucked out in being able to sit in without a reservation since I was alone. I could sit and watch the chef cook, which was really cool! I noticed that he was really careful about trying not to cross-contaminate the tools he used when making the vegan okonomiyaki and separated it from the non-vegan ones, which I thought was super considerate and thoughtful (wasn’t sure if it was intentional or coincidental). The servers were really friendly and helpful and even spoke English to ensure that what I ordered was, in fact, vegan (even double-checking with me to see if I was). The rice cake dumplings I had were amazingly delicious, and I would definitely order them again!

It's an experience - Edit
A must go if you love Okonomiyaki or just want to try it. If you are not more than 2 people you will be placed directly in front of the cook and can watch him make your food.

Satisfied my okonomiyaki craving. Be sure to reserve in advance - Edit
I haven’t come across suitable okonomiyaki since becoming vegan and this definitely hit the spot! There’s a vegan page in the menu and several vegan appetizers/sides as well that you can order separately or with a set menu. I got Kyoto-style tofu and a type of fried rice dumpling, but I would recommend just skipping all that and stuffing your face with more okonomiyaki.

Excellent Okonomiyaki! - Edit
The staff are really lovely and make it clear which options are vegetarian/vegan. They speak English quite well and understand what no meat no fish no dashi is! I went with friends who eat meat and when they brought various dishes out they explained which were vegan.

Thanks for putting this up on Happy Cow! Do they actually have the word vegan in the menu? Does this business understand the concept?

Ah, thanks for telling me that. On the map it appears close to my home so I got quite excited. There isn’t much vegan food around here.
