We were really excited to try this place based on the reviews. I got the salted peanut butter dipped in chocolate. The chocolate was running all down the cone (not a clean dip) and unfortunately the salted peanut butter tasted sour!

This is an ice cream place in the funky Bowery neighborhood of NYC. They offer mostly vegan ice cream (though make sure to ask to check the ingredients to be sure). I had the banana flavor, which tasted very banana-like. This is not diet food, but it does seem a cut above most ice cream places in NYC that offer some vegan fare.

came here last night w my friend and she got j the mini chocolate soft serve and she rly liked hers. i tried a bite and it was super intense and rich but im not a big chocolate girl so i wldnt have ordered it myself. i got the mini banana vanilla soft serve w koala chow on top and it was pretty good. tasted like homemade banana ice cream if u added like , a ton of sugar lol. i mean srsly a ton. it was good for a few bites but not much more bcs i dont like super sugary foods. the koala chow was interesting idek how to describe it but i dont think id get it again. also they have honey soft serve and honey toppings on the menu. so ... vegetarian. annoying tht smth so small makes this place not fully vegan. and the employee was like " everything is vegan " and i was like , " even the honey ? " and he was like " no. " lolll like omg tht was such a weird interaction bcs van leeuwens vegan ice cream has honey but its not real honey. like , its just meant to mimic the flavour of honey. so if i didnt ask specifically ab the honey i cldve totally ordered it thinking it was fake honey. sooo annoying lol. but it was fine overall. probs wont come back tbh since ive had better.

All items appear to be vegetarian or vegan. I had a twist cup and it was very tasty and had a good texture. A nice, healthier option to vegan ice cream.

What a blessing to have a non-dairy soft serve place. In the US they’re few and far between, so this was such a treat. Please try the Vietnamese iced tea flavor, it’s spot on!

As a vegan you always seem to be looking for soft serve ice cream. And, that’s all this spot does. Dairy free soft serve all day long!
