Very small buffet - Edit
The staff didn‘t even understand what I mean by ‚vegan‘.. she wanted to show us what‘s ‚vegan’ and pointed at the table with only meat/dairy options… there are allergen labels so I saw the vegan options myself, which are basically salads. We left the restaurant without eating everything after that.

Self-service buffet with a homely feel - Edit
It's a small all you can eat/drink type place with some items suitable for vegans and some other options for your meat-eating friends. Very cheap prices but not the largest selection of things as buffets go.
Read moreThe entrance is a staircase up one floor at the back of the Mini Mart. Upon arrival, you first pay at a vending machine. Its cash only, and you need to feed the machine your cash before you press the button to choose your drink option (only water; non-alcoholic drinks; or alcoholic drinks), and then press a button to print the tickets and give you the change. The buttons for the special food options were covered over with a board when we went on a Friday evening. It was very quiet so I am guessing these options are only available when they are busy.
The friendly staff didn't speak any english, but you hand them the tickets from the machine and they give you lanyards to wear with the colour denoting which (if any) drinks option you chose. The cute little stoves weren't there when we visited, but they did have the self-service french fries fryer and a self-service udon noodle boiling station which I think is a new addition. They shut these machines (and the beer machine) down at 9pm but the other options are still available until closing time.
The Udon broth was labelled with the fish logo and tasted very fishy, so when I got a refill I used the miso soup as a broth instead which worked for me.
Pros: Ingredients well-labelled, Cheap, Friendly
Cons: Limited selection of items

A couple options, but good - Edit
This store can be found next to the mini stop on the corner and is up some stairs. When you enter, you pay at a vending-type machine and either choose "all you can eat water", "all you can eat drinks" or "all you can eat drinks alcoholic drinks". You can eat for about ¥1600 without drinks. The interior is nicely decorated and the owner was very kind. All of the buffet foods have an allergy card that lists whether the food item contains meat, dairy, eggs, gluten, and more. There is a vegetable section with multiple vegetables and multiple dressings, but only one dressing is vegan, and it contains gluten. I made myself a salad and then a bowl of udon, and the owner provided me with soy sauce. You can heat up konbu in hot water on a cute little stove. There is also a drink machine and a rice cooker and multiple other amenities. You can even deep fry your own French fries in a little machine! It would be better if there were more vegan options, of course. There was not any soy meat, nor any tofu. Having a vegan protein would be really great. And a sauce without gluten would be advisable too. Either way I had a good time. 👍
