Double check that your dish is vegan - Edit
There was one option on the menu that was explicitly marked vegan (vegan moussaka), but I asked if a different dish was vegan (mushroom orzo) and I was told that it was also vegan, so that’s what I ordered. I should’ve been wary when the waiter said that “vegan means no blood, so you could eat squid.” I tried to explain that vegan means no animal products whatsoever, but he seemed unconvinced.
Read moreWhen my food arrived, it had a couple pieces of cheese on top, which the waiter ensured was “just a garnish.” Of course, any amount of dairy makes the dish non-vegan, but I was willing to let it go and just eat the rest of the dish. But when the waiter double checked with the chef, he learned that there actually was cheese and butter in the dish I had ordered, so they took it away and made me a new one that was (supposedly) vegan.
The waiter apologized and they brought me some bread and fava to eat while I waited for my dish, which was considerate, but I wish they had just checked that my dish was vegan before I ordered, not after the food arrived. The food was pretty tasty, but I can’t recommend this place to vegans because they don’t seem to understand or really care what “vegan” means.
Furthermore, the waiter was very pushy and kept encouraging us to order more. Also, when clearing up our finished plates, the waiter set down another table’s dirty dishes on our table before stacking our dishes on top. All in all, it felt kind of unprofessional and disrespectful.

Thoughtful vegan option on Naxos - Edit
We got the vegan moussaka and it was filling, well balanced and gluten free without any substitutions. The restaurant staff were all nice and very friendly. Look forward to returning.

Had the mushroom fricassee and moussaka which were clearly marked vegan in the menu, both so delicious.. so many lovely flavours. Cool staff too.

Refined farm to table - Edit
This place is a relaxed yet elegant farm to table restaurant with a few vegan choices. The food is well prepared; though they don’t have a lot of vegan options, what they have is very good. We had the vegan moussaka and stuffed peppers and tomato. They were a lot of subtle tastes and textures.
