Kind owners and tasty food - Edit
I believe that since the last review of this restaurant, the owners have seen more vegetarians/vegans, and have understood to not include fish sauces in their veggie options. The owners were very understanding and accommodating and only brought us fully vegan options.
Read moreThe food was super tasty too! We had the 수미감자전 (potato pancakes) and 비빔밥 which was filling but not heavy to eat. The sauce was especially flavourful.

Good food but communication necessary - Edit
This restaurant serves good food, which is lovingly prepared by a friendly couple.
Read moreThe owners claim that most of their dishes do not contain meat and is thus vegetarian, but they do not consider fish or seafood to be excluded in a vegetarian diet... Hence, asking for clarification and communicating before ordering is highly advised!!!
Many dishes will contain fish sauce (젓갈) or a tiny bit of fish soup (멸치 다시물) for flavoring, e.g. kimchi, doenjang sauce and broths. Precisely, the Mak-guksu (막국수) is made with beef broth, and the sauces of Bibim-mak-guksu (비빔막국수), Bibimbap (비빔밥) as well as Boribap (보리밥) contain traces of fish.
But they do have a couple of veggie-friendly dishes which can be veganized.
Vegan by default are their Sumi potato pancakes (Sumi Gamjajeon 수미감자전), which are small, cute and juicy - different from other restaurants!
The sprout-filled buckwheat pancakes (memil-sun jeonbyeong 메밀순전병) are also vegan and beautifully prepared.
The chive pancake (memil buchu jeon 메밀부추전) contains egg in the batter, but it can be veganized upon request.
The lady was also kind enough to make a vegan Perilla seed stew with sujebi noodles (memil tteulkke sujebi 메밀들깨수제비) for me. It tasted delicious and had more vegetables in it than when I got it at other restaurants.
Overall, I consider this restaurant a great location with veggie-friendly options. The owners are nice and the atmosphere is friendly and 'homey'.
