I was excited to learn there was a vegan pizza option & it was good. The service was also very professional! I look forward to returning and dining in. I ordered take out and sat at the bar while waiting. Beautiful atmosphere inside as well!

Some specialty pizzas can be made vegan, and there is also the option to build your own. Lots of vegan options for toppings and the vegan cheese is amazing! A bit expensive, but worth it for the quality.

The tofu and tempeh are pretty good. They use follow your heart vegan cheese (not daiya thank god). It’s a good spot for vegan pizza and I’ve heard the subs are tasty.

Vegan calzones! - Edit
I’ve been to several Mellow Mushrooms in Virginia and other state and the service is always top notch. Staff is friendly, competent, and highly knowledgeable about menu options. Tons of vegan options. I know of no other place in town to get vegan calzones. Highly recommended.

This is a really interesting restaurant with a full bar. We went for lunch and sat at the bar. They had a couple vegan options, nothing super exciting but our bartender was vegan and gave us the scoop on what was good. We ordered a pizza and made some substitutions-typical no cheese and add some veggies. The did not have vegan cheese from what I remember. The pizza was a smaller portion for the price, but it was really good! They had a decent beer selection as well.

Had the Holy Shiitake Pie with vegan cheese, no aioli or parmesan - it was delicious! I wasn’t aware they had a separate vegan menu so it took awhile for my husband and I to find a menu item to “veganise” but we’re so glad we got what we did! It was very busy and very noisy while we were there but it seems like that’s their overall vibe seeing as they do have a sports bar. We didn’t mind but I know that can be overwhelming for some people. We will be back for another piece of that pie!

I love some vegan pizza and get excited whenever a pizza place offers vegan cheese! They even have BBQ tofu as a topping choice. I always pile my pizza high with veggies! The atmosphere is fun and service is friendly. :)

New Menu Doesn't Affect Vegan Options - Edit
I dined at this Mellow Mushroom location in early August 2017 and learned that all Mellow Mushrooms had changed their menus "two days ago." I asked my server if the vegan menu was still available. He had to dig one up, but he brought it my table and went down the list of options, confirming that even though the new Mellow Mushroom menu had removed some ingredients, all of the vegan options could still be made; I was really impressed with the server's friendliness and knowledge of the menu/veganism.
Read moreI ordered a half Tofu Hoagie without mayo and without Daiya (I don't care for it). It was prepared correctly and was delicious. Even though it was a half sandwich, the portion size was very generous and the sandwich was overflowing with marinated cubes of tofu. The grilled peppers, mushrooms, and onions were cooked perfectly, though were a bit greasy. I had previously ordered this with the Daiya and was concerned that ordering it without would make the sandwich too dry, but that wasn't the case.
The only complaint I had about the experience was that I was seated next to a table of young children who would not sit still despite their mothers' pleas. That's hardly the restaurant's fault, but is something a potential customer should consider. This *is* a family restaurant. This may appeal to some more than others. Either way, the combination of the children and the ambient music made it hard to hear.

Decor is awesome and inviting but waitstaff isn't always the best. We had the hummus which was absolutely delicious but we're not impressed with the vegan pizza. It's obvious that this isn't a vegan restaraunt. They piled so much Daiya mozzarella on our pizza, we could barely get through one slice. The waitress didn't even offer to remove it from our tab. We may be back for drinks and apps but definitely not their pizza.

It's alright for a chain restaurant. I love how they have a separate menu for vegans and love the tofu hoagie. It's a bit small if you're hungry. I bring my own mayonnaise when I know I'm going to order a sandwich.

Mellow Mushroom will not be honest with people and tell them that their is Dominos sugar (Bone char) in the crust. So therefore, this is neither Vegan or Vegetarian! I stopped going!

This chain is easily one of the best vegan pizzas out there. Get food for pick up if you're eating mid to late fri-sun because it can get crowded since families like to go there. You can make any pizza and you can make any pizza vegan. Also calzones and this one sub that I think is supposed to be a philly.
