Great little chic spot for vegan and gluten free options - Edit
We were directed to check this place out by a local who said the had quite a few vegan and gluten free options. It's in a really cool spot on the corner of a busy area that's full of other chic spots. If we had more time in Richmond, it would've been a great place to wander around.
Read moreOverall, love the decor and service in this place. The menu is fairly large and did have a lot of gluten free and vegan options.
We were originally going to split the Spicy Avocado Bowl and the TLT Sandwich with the chickpea Salas. The server came back out after a few minutes to tell us that they couldn't actually make the sandwich gluten free and vegan since their gluten free bread contained eggs and their Tempeh Bacon contains wheat. That was a real disappointment since those things could be easy swaps with ingredients or products that are both gluten free and vegan. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.
However, we got 3 sides with the bowl instead and all of the food was delicious. If we lived in the area, this is probably a place we would come back to.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Well labeled menu, Service
Cons: Gluten free bread isn't vegan

Enough vegan options on the menu to feel like I had some choice, and the food was very tasty. No complaints!

Well labelled menu, but food and service need work - Edit
There are several vegan options and also some vegetarian ones that can be made vegan on request. The food was OK, just standard. They seem to be trying to offer diverse options, are maybe overcomplicating the menu. The service was unbelievably slow, the food took much longer than reasonable to arrive when there were only a few occupied tables, and the staff seemed more interested in socializing and dancing than checking on customers. Not sure I would visit again.

Lots of options but needs some work. - Edit
We split the brussels sprouts appetizer and the Buddha bowl. The brussels sprouts were swimming in oil and not all of the bowl components were cooked properly (sweet potatoes and broccolini were pretty undercooked). The crispy chickpea topping was so salty on the bowl that I could barely finish it.

Delicious - Edit
The food I ordered was really tasty. Kinda too expensive for some items, in my opinion. The menu is marked clearly with vegan and gluten free options. I got roasted brussle spouts (perfect), buffalo cauliflower (not my thing. Mushy and super spicy), buddah bowl (good), sweet potato (basic roasted sweet potato; no added flavors), chocolate peanut butter cheezecake (really yummy, but $10 for 1 small slice).

Overall, I would go here again.
Street parking was hard to find. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor area has heaters! Waitstaff seemed to be working together as a team.
Pros: Clean, Marked menu, Friendly waitstaff
Cons: Expensive, Hard to find parking

Limited menu since Covid - Edit
I love the daily, it’s a great place to brunch. The menu used to have more vegan items prior to covid but it seems that it’s rotated less often. Not a big deal but I only stop here for Brussels or a gigantic salad now. Thankful they carry twin oaks tofu though!

Best Veggie Burger - Edit
The “vegetarian burger” here is vegan. It is also THE BEST veggie burger I have ever tasted. It’s only $10 with a generous serving of sweet potato fries.

Fresh and Delicious!! - Edit
We shared the vegan queso and it was sharp and zesty! I actually compared it to a liquid version of X-treme Cheddar Goldfish (in the best way possible). The Buddha Bowl with added tofu had so many great flavors that worked beautifully when mixed together. The atmosphere was energized and the waitstaff was so engaging and funny. I really should my time around Carytown

Gross, overpriced vegan food - Edit
We took my daughter and son-in-law to dinner here last June. We had the vegan Buddha bowl with tofu $18.00 and the vegan Teriyaki bowl with tofu $15.00. My Buddha bowl was bland and tasteless with soggy vegetables. My husband said his was spicy, hot and tasteless. Just because a place offers vegan food, does not mean that they are good enough cooks to make it taste good. This is an attempt by someone who does not eat vegan to accommodate us, and while I applaud the effort, the execution fails miserably. Extremely overpriced for downtown Richmond.

Many vegan options - Edit
The server was super nice and when asked recommended the buckwheat pancakes over the tofu scramble. I listened and the pancakes had absolutely no flavor.

Good - Edit
Very tasty if a little pricy. The vegan calamari starter was great! The pesto pasta was good without being amazing. Not loads of vegan options but clearly marked.

My favorite place in rva - Edit
I love the daily. I've never been with anyone that doesn't like what they ordered. I have had several of the bowls and the tempeh lettuce and tomatoe sandwich. I wish could make my sandwiches as good as they do. I would also recommend trying the burrito bowel. The salads are also fresh and full of veggies.

it's ok. - Edit
I've been here a couple times and have gotten the BBQ tofu sandwich and the veggie burger which were both just meh. The veggie burger kept falling apart and I wasn't a big fan of the flavor of the BBQ and texture of the tofu. The French fries are great though!

My favorite restaurant in Richmond! - Edit
The Daily is hands down my favorite place to eat in RVA. The menu is absolutely fantastic and the best thing about it is how well everything is labeled - clearly labeled vegan or vegan option! You don’t have to worry about making any crazy modifications, you just ask for the vegan option and the wait staff know exactly what to do! The Brussels sprouts are amazing, definitely try those! They use Teese Cheese, which is only for restaurants now and is so good so don’t miss your chance to get some of that! And I’ve had every bowl that has a vegan option on the menu - I recommend them all! Also the gluten free pizza crust is vegan!

Average - Edit
Stir fry and burrito bowl with tofu were tasty and portions were generous. Vegetarian trio appetizer and guacamole were also good. We had a long wait for our desserts and we were disappointed when they arrived. Friends said the brownie was dry and cheesecake did not have a good flavor. Chocolate torte was good but small and had very few berries. If you eat here, don't order dessert. Stop into Ellwood Thompson's for excellent vegan desserts at reasonable prices.

Went there for brunch but wasn't that impressed after all the buzz about it. There are definitely a lot of vegan and vegan optional on the menu. Will have to try again for lunch or dinner.

Great healthy options - Edit
Get the tacos in vegan mode. They are amazing. The Daily really does seem to have made fresh, local, healthy food their top priority. There are a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The atmosphere is upscale but relaxed and on nice days the walls open up and the whole place feels like it is outside. Highly recommended for vegans or vegetarians eating with their friends. Everyone will find something they love here.

Great for mixed groups - Edit
We love the Daily. We have had pizzas (daiya cheese), tofu apps, hummous apps, veg burger (nut based- good, but heavy). Some of our favorites are the tacos (ask for it with tofu- to die for!), the bbq tofu sandwich, and stir fry bowls. They also have great sides like roasted brussels sprouts and sweet potato fries.

As a plus, they do serve meat dishes, in case you are in a mixed group, trying to find a restaurant to please everyone!

Great healthy vegan options, even breakfast! - Edit
Since its opening, this place has become one of my favorite restaurants! They serve kombucha cocktails for goodness sake! And buckwheat (gf) vegan pancakes with real maple syrup or gave. They have all natural mocktails--awesome! Bodacious vegan salads, vegan pizza, vegan tofu scramble, vegan muffins, vegan tofu sandwich many many healthy and delicious vegan options! The service is good, usually. This place has a focus on sustainability which is sweet. They have a lovely outdoor patio, but they are popular so Friday nights are crowded! Many gf and vegan options... If you have die-hard stubborn carnivores in your famiy, this will please both the cruelty-free and the people who eat dead animals. On the pricey side.

Pros: kombucha cocktails; mocktails, many vegan & gf options, nice atmosphere, good service
