Serves meat, vegan options available. Moroccan restaurant with labeled vegan dishes including falafel, hummus, couscous and a variety of tagines. Open Mon-Thu 11:00-22:00, Fri-Sat 11:00-22:30, Sun 11:00-22:00.
We've been to Meimo before with a small group of friends, and were quite disappointed. So, I'm very pleased to report that, this time, everything - the food, the drink, the service - was much improved. We opted for mezzes rather than tajines, and there's enough vegetarian or vegan mezze dishes to make a meal for two. However, for me the real star was tucked away on 'side dishes': a humble lentil stew. This arrived in a miniature tajine, and was subtly flavoured with cumin (probably coriander, too, but that's what I could taste.
We drank Moroccan beer, which was very acceptable, but I think they missed a trick in not having any Lebanese reds on the wine list: Chateau Musar could've tempted me away from yet more lager.
The only other quibble was the music. I love Arab music, whether traditional or contemporary, but too much of this was Arab rap, and Autotuned at that. Rap only sounds good in French, to my ears, and Autotuning always sounds dreadful.
