Possibly the worst happy cow listing I’ve been to - Edit
Sunday night at 8:15pm we asked if they were open (listed as closing at 9pm). They said yes but we’d have to be quick. Asked if they’d rather we take take away, and they said yes. We could hear them hearing up everything in the microwave rather than cooking it. The two tagines cost approximately £13 each and one of them was just a container of broad beans drowned in olive oil. It was supposed to have other veges according to the description. Extremely disappointing.

Amazing food, atmosphere, and service - Edit
Lovely Moroccan cuisine, great atmosphere with traditional music, and the service was brilliant. I thoroughly recommend Al Fassia for dinner if you’re in Windsor.
Read moreThe Al Fassia Salad starter offered a great variety of tasty dishes, along with bread and hummus.
Tagine D’Elkhodra for main was delicious and filling. Only slight criticism is that there was little too much olive oil for my liking, but that’s likely as it doesn’t sit well in my stomach.
Pros: Great vegan options, Delicious and filling food, Amazing atmosphere and service

Lots of options - Edit
A lot of dishes are naturally vegan, others can be adapted, but they have a very clear understanding what vegan is too. Lots of great options

Never fails to delight - Edit
I've been here on more occasions than I care to count, and it's never disappointed. Most memorable was an occasion when we were next to a table of twenty or so Eton Old Boys, who were being entertained by a Moroccan dancer in blue sequins and not much else (she turned out to be from Hounslow, not Marrakech). The Etonians were like frogs in a jam jar.
Read moreOh yes - the food. Your best bet is to go with someone else, order a tajine each, one with couscous, one with rice. Both grains are cooked simply but are quite delicious. I usually go for the lentil tajine. And my tip is that whereas Moroccan beer isn't bad at all, I'd avoid the wine.
When I was vegetarian, I loved the puds. Sadly, these are not suitable for vegans, as they'll contain honey or butter or both. Que lastima, as they don't say in Tangier.
Post script: we went back there today, as a farewell to England meal, before we return to what Mary-Ann Sailors calls The Chosen Land. It was as good as ever: épinards à l'ail flavoured with cumin, chilli, preserved lemons and, er, garlic; lentil tajine with couscous; white bean tajine with rice. How they can turn something as humble and simple as boiled couscous into such an airy, insubstantial delight is pure alchemy.

Vegan mains but few desserts - Edit
Had a takeaway and enjoyed the shared cold starter of hummus, baba ganoush etc, but sadly the pitta bread was shop-bought (guessing their own is made with dairy) - a shame as you can make a delicious flatbread without any butter or milk.
Read moreThe veggie tagine and broad bean side were tasty.
Pros: Plenty of vegan options for starter and main
Cons: Only one vegan dessert, Shop-bought pitta

5 Stars if I could - Edit
Al Fassia has long been a favourite restaurant of myself and my partner (both vegan). There is an expansive vegetarian menu which is mostly vegan with plans to provide more dessert options - always a bonus! The team always provide great service and are very friendly and accommodating for vegan customers.

So many options! - Edit
The food is amazing! So many different options. The flavour of all the dishes is fantastic. The lentils Tagine is so good and the Alfassia salad is a must. Falafel is also delicious and to top it off you have to go for the vegan pancakes with golden syrup and vegan ice cream... Literally Amazing.
