Vegan degustation - Edit
Decent vegan degustation and good service. I've done the degustation a couple of times; the first was great and it wasn't too busy, so the staff were very attentive. The second time, the food took a long long time to come out (though the staff were still lovely), and the dessert was frozen and difficult to eat.

Disappointing fine dining - Edit
After hearing mostly good things about Matteo’s we decided to give it a try for a special occasion. Unfortunately, it did not compare to other fine dining places we’ve been to. None of the courses were outstanding, just ok. The final main course was a cauliflower steak, something I’d expect to find on a pub menu, not a fine dining restaurant. The presentation of the dishes was great though. Overall, if you’re looking for a fine dining place in Melbourne, give this one a miss, it certainly wasn’t worth the $160 pp price tag.

Fine dinning with fantastic vegetarian options - Edit
We went for a family celebration and we’re delighted with the food. The vegetarian options were unusual and creative, and not at all just token efforts to satisfy the vegetarian/ vegan crowd. This is a fine dining experience in Melbourne and priced accordingly, but worth it for a special occasion, particularly if you want to cater to a mixed crowd of vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters.

Happily return for another special occasion.

I took my partner here for his birthday. The Vegan and Vegetarian degustations menus were wonderful. There wasn't much difference between the two except the addition of cheese to the vegetarian menu. There were 5 courses at $115 for the degustation menu - 4 savoury and 1 sweet. There is the option of having a matching wine list but we just opted for an excellent bottle of wine to go with the meal. The wait staff were brilliant and very attentive. Overall a wonderful experience.

Excellent vegetarian choices on the menu. The five-course vegetarian tasting menu is expensive but worth every cent. They now also have a five-course vegan tasting menu. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

Amazing - Edit
Has a specific vegan tasting menu which was absolutely divine. Unlike a lot of upscale restaurants who just make a token effort, these guys genuinely care about providing an amazing vegan menu. Will definitely be back!
