I wish she was MY Ma - Edit
This was the best vegan food we were able to find on the entire island all week. We had a meatloaf like dish that she said was made with pecans, it was incredible. We had pasta with cashew cheese sauce, also incredible. We had some green beans that were extremely good, some couscous, and some chickpeas cooked with coconut milk with some curry seasoning. Everything was so good, we also had some carrot cake, and it was the most moist and delicious carrot cake I’ve ever had.

Great for Vegans - Edit
This is a wonderful lunch place for vegans. Served cafeteria-style, which is popular on St Thomas, Ma’s Veggie Deli is almost completely plant-based. Happy Cow says they serve “meat”, because they provide one or two daily fish items, but all other dishes are 100% vegan, yummy, and change daily. Highly recommended! #Veganuary

Awesome vegan food - Edit
Everything was vegan except for one fish dish and the lasagne. The pecan meatloaf was phenomenal!! You get to try a sampling of all the offerings - they will pile it onto a large take out container for you. We also got blueberry muffins which were delicious. There is one table with a few seats to dine in. Parking is right outside. Really friendly ladies served us. Definitely recommend stopping by for lunch!!

Yummy takeout - Edit
Takeout spot in a strip mall. Premade, so quick for takeout. Many vegan options, but double check. I asked what was vegan and told everything besides the fish. I then asked if the lasagna had real dairy cheese, and she said yes. But they did have good vegan options, like cashew mac n cheese.
Read moreThere was one table inside, but quite hot inside, and not really somewhere you’d want to stop and eat. No outdoor seating since it’s in a tight strip mall. It’s near the turn off for Coki Beach, if you want to bring your food there.
I believe they’re affiliated with the Seven Day Adventist church.

Affordable, convenient take out - Edit
We got their at about 4 on a Friday and they said they had closed at 3:30 so had limited options, but they still let us and had about 6 dishes to choose from to create a combo plate. Menu changes daily; when we were there everything was vegan. It was all pretty yummy, except for the empanada-style patties which were bland and dry.
Read moreNot a place you would sit in and eat at, but convenient for a quick to-go meal. Operated by 7th Day Adventists so closed on Saturdays, keep that in mind. I would suggest calling before you go to confirm hours because online it said they should have been open til 6 on the day we went.
Pros: Good portions, Affordable, Convenient
Cons: Not good for eating in, Not always fully vegan

Great local vegan food! - Edit
This deli was only a short walk from our resort and the reviews were very good. We were not disappointed. Everything was vegan except the fish. The portions are very generous. We each selected a protein and 2 sides for lunch and we had leftovers for dinner. The bbq tofu was very good and the pecan loaf was excellent. The deli is owned and run by 7th Day Adventists so vegetarians and vegans should have no problem finding good eats there.

Would give 5 stars if I could!! Amazing local dishes, home style food - Edit
Amazing veggie restaurant (more of a buffet of many choices and you fill a plate). So many hearty and flavorful dishes it was hard to choose just a few. Getting a large plate guaranteed we’d have enough leftover for dinner.
Read moreThe dishes were a mix of popular ones (ex. Vegan eggplant parm) to local specialities that I couldn’t pronounce that completely blew my mind. This place is a must!! We went for lunch (usually put out around 11-1130am) and would have leftovers for dinner too. They aren’t open on weekends right now. We also got some delicious banana-blueberry muffins to go.

Decent option - Edit
Very close to Margaritaville resort, we walked. We went there about an hour before close and the food was quite over cooked. The food was fair, portions were good, and service was friendly. Great option for a filling meal, 2 large plates fed us 2 meals. We got plantains, rice and beans, lasagna, veggie burger mix, root veggies, mac n cheese, and tofu meat patty (all vegan). You order either a medium plate or large plate to go. The multiple options were great but we weren’t blown away by anything.

Delicious, great value! - Edit
Awesome local VI fare and at least the day we were there, the only non-vegan items out of about two dozen were a fish dish and fish pattie. Four of us got two dinners (protein and three sides) to share and there was plenty of food. Great value for the money and the staff was super nice and helpful too.

Friendly service and delicious lunches to go! - Edit
Ma's Vegi Deli is located in a shopping mall off Smith Bay Rd. It is very near the popular Coki Beach area, and Coral World. I was greeted warmly by Princess. She explained that the menu changed daily, based on what was available locally. Local, fresh-caught fish is offered, as well as many vegan sides. I ordered a small vegan meal, and it included a nice-sized sampling of items. The gluten steak was tender and savory, and the lentil loaf had a wonderful kick that was tempered nicely by the cashew sauce on top. The sauteed mixed veggies were crisp-tender, and the brown rice was seasoned perfectly with Caribbean flavor. There were about 12 items to choose from, but I just let Princess select for me, and the variety was great. They offer local flavor drinks as well. I had the tamarind drink - it was very refreshing!
Read moreThere is not much dining room other than a small counter and few chairs, so it's best to order to go. Since the location is close to Coki Beach and an other park, this deli is great for providing a picnic lunch.
Pros: friendly staff, excellent food, nice sized portions
