Really delicious - Edit
We had lunch here today and the food was delicious. We had lentil dhal, one of the salads, a peanut butter smoothie and a peanut butter energy ball. Everything was really very good. We also had a ginger kombucha. It’s the only place I’ve found kombucha in Reykjavik. I’m sure I’d eat here regularly if I lived in Reykjavik. Definitely worth a visit. Conveniently located as well. Staff is very nice.

Such a vibe! Cacao drink and ceremony - Edit
Finally a place where music, vibes and drinks are perfect. Here you can drink real raw cacao and dal or sandwiches. Cakes and fresh juices. There is a shop downstairs that bring you to the Hindu world and also they do cacao ceremony every Friday 🙏🏼

Good food, but nothing extraordinary - Edit
It was good food, friendly service. But to earn 5 stars I would expect to feel they do something very creative or the food is decorated lovely, or the restaurant has a extraordinary ambiente. To me it is a too typical vegan food place. Too alternative touch witch lack of professionalism.

Two words: Orgasm Cake - Edit
I had their soup of the day (rich, creamy, delicious tomato) which came with fresh bread and butter. I also had the “Orgasm Cake” which was an amazingly delicious blueberry cheesecake. Drool!

Soothing stews - Edit
Had the Mama Jamaica and West Africa stews - both nourishing and flavorful. Mama Jamaica was a sweet stew with veggies, chickpeas and potatoes, West Africa had tomatoes, spinach and peanut butter, both over rice. Also, freshly pressed beet juice was a treat! While a little on the pricy side, could’ve easily done with one stew for two instead of two because the portions are generous. Wish I’d had room for dessert.

My favorite restaurant ever - Edit
We went by accident and didn’t have any expectation and we found out the perfect place to have a cozy dinner. The food was amazing, the teas were incredible and in the middle of the cold in January we couldn’t be warmer 😌

Expensive - Edit
So expensive, even for Reykjavik! Lentil daal doesn't cost much to make yourself so there was a huge mark up on the prices! The cake was lovely but tiny size for the price. The place has a hippie vibe, which I'm usually into but I found it also had an air of pretension too. Staff were extremely slow to serve food and it was cold. Probably wouldn't visit again but it did the trick whilst sightseeing.

Cosy vegan cafe in the centre of Reykjavik - Edit
Nice little cafe/restaurant in the centre of Reykjavik. An entirely vegan place. The menu is fairly small, three stews, two sandwiches, three salads and a soup (alongside smoothies/drinks) but the food was nice.

Extraordinary food - Edit
Mama is very centrally located and provides a nice view of downtown Reykjavik.
Read moreThere is an esoteric shop beneath it, and I’m certain both restaurant and shop are somehow affiliated, because the vibe is so similar. You find statues Indian deities inside as well as psychedelic pictures for sale.
There are ample herbal teas on the menu.
In short, there are three fixed main dishes (and a changing soup of the week). I had the African-inspired dish, but since I went with two friends, and each of us took a different dish, which I was able to taste, I can speak about all three.
So, all three are flavour explosions in a good way. Ingredients and cooking are visibly high-class. Good portions, too.
I liked the Jamaican dish best (by far) and the daal least. However, it’s really a matter of personal taste.
The local beer tasted absolutely awful, but again, that’s my personal taste. Other people may love it.
At last, the vegan cheesecake - top-notch!! Sadly, it was still pretty frozen. Not sure, why. Would certainly be better not straight out the freezer.
Service flawless.
Praise for the extraordinary dishes.
I would go there again, but not too often, because the flavours are actually too exotic for me to have them frequently.
Four stars, because I kinda disliked the daal (even though I normally love daal) and due to the (still delicious) cake being frozen.

Cozy café near the punk museum - Edit
Not literally down to earth, but I guess some people would describe it as that. Hippie vibe. Colorful environment. Unintelligible music in the background. Cheerful people. Calm like a bomb. Friendliness
Read moreI went for a sandwich, cake and coffee and that cost me 29 euro. Tad expensive because the sandwich wasn’t that big, but I realized once again that I’m in Iceland 🤣. I guess that’s that only downside with this place and most of the other restaurants/bars you visit here. It’s inevitable, but I would go back here as the options in this country are limited.
Pros: Tremendous service, Tasty dishes
Cons: Small portions and high price
