Hearty Armenian food and beautiful gallery

The restaurant is located in a fabulous art space. The restaurant is two-story, in the form of an outdoor courtyard. There are trees, carpets and paintings everywhere, the atmosphere is peaceful.

About the menu. This is a classic restaurant of Armenian cuisine. From vegan: Sunny salad, Bazrkani salads, lentil soup, nettle soup, French fries and wedgies. The main courses: Adana garlic meatballs (bulgur in tomato sauce), Aylazan (fried vegetables). Dolma is by default with meat, on request they omit it.

We took meatballs, Ailazan, potatoes, a liter of homemade cherry compote and a basket of bread. The meatballs have a simple taste—ordinary cooked bulgur, very tightly molded into cutlets, without spices, so the taste was a little empty. But the sauce they were stewed in was very good. We poured it over fried vegetables and potatoes, and it was great. The portions were huge (we were expecting smaller ones!), the meal was filling, everything was beautiful. No wow, but this moment was more than compensated by the vibes of the space itself.

The entire territory of Machanents is a huge gallery of sculptures and amazing paintings; I highly recommend taking a walk and poking your nose into every corner. And yes, I bow to the creative soul of the Armenians.

Pros: tasty and hearty food, friendly staff, beautiful place

Cons: not "wow" food, very simple
