Great vegan options - Edit
They have a vegan specific menu with lots of options, I ordered the vegan meatballs to start and the spaghetti puttanesca for my main course, and I can't fault them! Portions were really reasonable, but it is on the more expensive side

Read moreI recommend sitting outside if it isn't raining. There are heaters and blankets to keep you warm during the winter and it doesn't feel like you are in the UK.

Ordered the vegan meatballs for starter and gnocchi for main. It was alright. I love that there was a fully vegan menu! If I were to go again I'd order the grilled artichoke & saffron risotto instead.
Price: 3/5
Bit on the expensive side but atmosphere and staff friendliness was worth it.

Yes there’s a separate vegan menu with standard Italian fare like pizza and pasta, but some strange additions like falafel burger. Food is fine but not exceptional, service is friendly and efficient.

I got a margarita pizza and the vegan cheese was the best I’ve ever had! Wish I had asked what it was. Unreal biscoff cheesecake for dessert too. They had loads of option! Lovely atmosphere too!

Went with my parents who eat meat and we all got great options. There’s a separate vegan menu- I got the spinach avocado salad and tortellini. Both were excellent. Would go again!!

This was a gorgeous meal, the vegan options were really flavoursome, all wines labelled if vegan and portions a good size. So fresh tasting and lovely atmosphere sitting outside, despite the rain!

We stumbled across this place by accident because it just looks so lovely from the outside, at first we thought they only had 2 vegan options but once we told them we were vegan they brought us a whole vegan menu with loads to choose from!

We went here on the evening of our wedding day and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating in making our day even more special. No request was too much for them, and the food was excellent in both variety and taste. Definitely worth a visit.

The Best Restaurant in York! - Edit
During my two day trip in York I visited Lucia on both evenings! It was so nice the first day that my Mum and I had to return before we went home! From the cute interior, to the amazing menu and tasty food, to the friendly staff…It was all perfect! They have a very extensive separate vegan menu on offer if you mention that you’re vegan upon arrival. It has a wide range of starters, mains and a dessert option. On the first night my Mum and I both had the pasta option with the courgettes and olives; it was delicious, my mum had that on both evenings! The portions are really decent aswell! Super filling yet great prices for the amount and quality you get! On the second evening I got the Fungi Pizza which was huge and really tasty! The vegan cheese was perfect (as I usually hate vegan pizza because the cheese can be gross). It was so large that I couldn’t finish it! The dough and toppings were lovely. There were so many other things I wanted to try too like gnocchi, ravioli and more! I also had a side of onion rings with my pasta and it was a great portion size and they were lush! Really crispy panic fried; simply delicious! So many vegan side options too! There is only one vegan dessert which is a cheesecake but there’s also an array of ice creams! Staff are so lovely here and the restaurant is so clean and has an amazing vibe! Loved it and would recommend to anyone visiting York; vegan or not! Also, shoutout to our waitress, Sophie, who recognised us and served us both nights; she was lovely! If I could give 5 stars I would!

My lovely wife and I visited Lucia for dinner one evening after hearing that they have a separate and quite extensive vegan menu. It's always good to see restaurants making the effort and catering for those with a plant-bases diet!
Read moreIt's a lovely place, set in and around a beautiful courtyard. The vegan menu - as promised - offer plenty of tasty sounding options. After some deliberation, we ordered the vegan meatballs to share as a starter and the mushroom risotto and Veneziane gnocchi to follow. Everything was pretty good without being amazing.
Prices are reasonable given that it's a fairly upmarket kind of place. Expect to pay upwards of £50 for a couple, including drinks.

We are here for my birthday last night, after being a little put off by the menu, we realised there was a separate menu with vegan only options (woohoo) this was great to see!

We ordered desert (2 options) we went for the cheesecake over sorbet.. and a large slice of cheesecake arrived with a blob of ice cream from a different waitress from our original.
I didn’t remember seeing vegan ice cream as an option so checked with the original waitress who said ‘don’t eat that, it’s the wrong one’ the issue was rectified, no harm done and overall, a pleasant experience!

The food was excellent and there was plenty of options to choose from. The staff was really nice, just ask for the vegan menu upon arrival. Very popular location so I would advise booking in advance.
