Vegan shakshuka and nice terrace - Edit
Really nice terrace and interior. Extensive menu. We both got vegan shakshuka which was fun and the ‘egg’ tasted really good. Also got choc brownie which was more like a cake but very nice.

Good food, nice ambiance - Edit
Menu with varied dishes. Today, for the fourth time, I had the ‘mo: mo: soup’ and for the first time the ‘soya fysh sticks’.
Read moreThe broth of the soup is tasty and full of flavors. The momos are fresh and delicious and have the perfect structure and softness.
The soy fysh sticks were tasty, but they don't live up to their name. They were actually cubes of fried tofu with very minimal seaweed flakes on top of it. Still, a good source of protein though and quite flavorful.
Overall, I think Loving Heart is a nice and cozy place to enjoy vegan food. If you sit upstairs on the terrace, it's advisable to ask them to turn on the ceiling fan because with the sun on the flat roof, it can get quite warm. Downstairs on the covered terrace, it's cooler anyway.
I really recommend Loving Heart. The ambiance is cozy, the food is good and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Lovely place - Edit
Probably our favorite place for vegan food in Kathmandu. We stopped by for lunch once so far and will definitely come back again. The restaurant is located in the top floor of a building on one of the main roads in Thamel with an amazing view from their rooftop. We got some delicious chai with soy milk, amazing momos, the roti curry set and spinach crepes. Everything was just so delicious and really filling.

Nice all-vegan spot which is one of the go-to spots - Edit
We were happy to find another all-vegan restaurant in Thamel. The service and food was fair, not the best we've had in Kathmandu though. But definitely a nice place to go to for vegans in Kathmandu!

Not bad, ok for the belly - Edit
The food was ok, maybe some other dishes I need to try. The burger was nice though not much flavour, fysh didn’t really taste nice. Pizza would’ve been good had they not forgotten to give it to me, so I had it cold and the seitan was hard on it.

Great food, very friendly - Edit
Super friendly people and great food options - I had the seitan chilly, soy masala tea, and an oreo shake. All of it was delicious and the seitan had perfect level of spice against my cold. Another table ordered a donut and that also looked amazing.

Update June 2024:
They changed locations since my last review and are now in a tall building with rooftop seating with a view. Good was the same though.

It's also amazing value. I think we paid about £6 for two main meals each time we went. Absolutely fantastic!

Excellent Vegan Fusion in Asia - Edit
I love this place. Medicine for the soul: every time in Kathmandu I come here. Food made by the vegan chefs with dedication and love. Local Nepali dishes with seitan or tofu, or vegan variations on continental. Try the V’egg or Tofu Stairs. Or if you want to try vegan Nepali get the Seitan Chow Mein or Vegan Momos. I can’t wait to visit the new location. Namaste!

Disappointing - Edit
I was very disappointed after having read all the superb reviews. The soy masala tea tasted weird, the atmosphere was odd, and as they only have outdoor seating available (too cold in winter), I didn't go back to try out their dinner.

I had high hopes for this place but the ice cream sorbet we ordered was sadly very lacking.
Read moreThe texture was too loose and the taste too weird. It didn't sit well in our stomachs.
The fruit was the best part of the sorbet.
A very good portion/price rate, though.
Maybe the savory dishes of this place are much better; I just wouldn't recommend the ice cream.
Pros: nice and quiet place, portion/price rate
Cons: long waiting time for a place that was empty, not so good ice cream
