Solid vegan joint! ..well kind of - Edit
Not fully vegan which was misleading since the sign said plant based (they served some crab and shrimp). But the restaurant was beautiful and the family who owns and run it were very sweet and friendly. The vegan bbq appetizer was so good, the eggplant miso was my favorite, also the vegan tuna on crispy rice did not disappoint! The tempura was alright and the tuna shashimi was pretty good! I also got the teriyaki burger and wasn’t the biggest fan. It was not bad but it was mushy since it is made fresh with organic ingredients. I tend to like fake meats like impossible or beyond but aside from that it was a great restaurant. The highlight was the matcha tart!!!

Very tasty food but a little pricey. Worth treating yourself. - Edit
There were a number of vegan choices, I went for the jalapeno burger - great sauce and flavour.
Read moreI was the only guest so I didn't get the atmosphere others mentioned, it was raining. More on that in a moment.
The waitress was very good and chatted when I had finished eating.
Apparently it rains a lot in Kanazawa and she told me a local saying, "You can forget your lunch box but don't forget your umbrella!"
Pros: Good jalapeno sauce, Very friendly waitress
Cons: Slightly pricey but worth the treat.

Average meal in a cozy restaurant - Edit
cozy atmosphere and good service. but very expensive prices, even for being vegan. gluten free vegetarian and vegan options. I ordered the Kanazawa dish and it was very sweet and oily. It cost 2500 yen

Great food, fun atmosphere - Edit
I’m in Kanazawa for a language immersion program, and this is my class’s favorite place to go! The food is great, the staff understands veganism, and they are very friendly. Great place to grab food and a drink almost any time!

Great option in Kanazawa - Edit
There were plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. The portion sizes were on the smaller side which was perfect for a light meal, or a good option if you want to try several different options. I had the vegan Caesar salad and the eggplant in spicy miso and both were delicious!

We loved everything we ordered - Edit
A great restaurant with an almost completely vegetarian menu and with many vegan or veganizable dishes. We loved everything we ordered, especially the vegan special and the cheesecake. If you go to Kanazawa, totally recommended.

5 stars! - Edit
I could go on about the food. However I will leave it with a “the food was fantastic.”
Read moreWhat is the absolute stand out is the kindness of the staff. Their service was much more than ever expected. An example; my wife and I are on our honeymoon. They took that information and had a little celebration for us. They brought out desert with a candle on it and the complete staff came out to clap for us. The owner took our picture with the candled desert. That was extremely sweet. But wait, there is more…as we were getting up to leave the owner handed a bag with a little gift inside. He had actually printed out the picture he took and framed it. Truly, just wow, he melted our hearts.
5 stars!
Pros: Kindness beyond measure, I think everything can be made vegan , Wonderful, attentive staff
Cons: I can’t leave a 5 star review

A small, classy restaurant that has izakaya bar foods as well as bigger meals. Wonderful people! Recommend this place with my whole heart and stomach! Packed on Saturday, not so much on Sunday. Love this place!!

Tasty but needs bigger portions - Edit
The food and location were good and the service very nice. It’s great to find good vegan food in Kanazawa. But as other reviewers already mentioned it’s more expensive than usual restaurants in Japan - including some fine dining restaurants in larger cities. Portions are really small, even when you order the dinner set. The only thing that was in a regular price range were the desserts which were awesome! All in all this place left us disappointed although the food itself was good.

Ate here last night & tonight, really enjoyed the food both nights if a bit pricier than we’d been used to in Japan.

Nice but pricy - Edit
We had a really hard time finding this place, as Google maps pointed us to the wrong place (I’ve updated the location now on Happycow).
Read moreWe have been greeted by english speaking staff and the service was very lovely all throughout. Majority of the menu is vegan with clearly marked vegan labels.
The food was ok but none of the dishes were exceptional - unlike the prices. You have to pay cover charge per person (550 yen) plus every dish will be around 800-1250 yen, and you need at least 2 dishes per person as they are quite small plates. It’s a nice place to try but there are better places for far less in Kanazawa.

I’d give this 5 stars if possible but happy cow only allows for fully veggie/vegan. The meal was really tasty with authentic flavours, a good atmosphere and friendly people.
